Everything you need to know

Okta and OneLogin are two popular identity and access management (IAM) applications. How do you decide which solution is the best fit for your IAM needs based on your budget?

To help you save time and effort in comparing these solutions, we’ve created a comparison tool to provide head-to-head comparison of the products’ core features.

Based on vendor websites and user reviews of Okta and Onelogin, here’s how core features stack up:

Single sign-on (SSO): Okta enables SSO access to cloud, on-premise, and mobile applications. OneLogin's SSO portal creates multiple logins for the same applications with one password and helps to manage security of multiple applications for new employees while onboarding.

Multi-factor authentication (MFA): Both Okta and OneLogin have MFA. Okta offers security questions, SMS, and biometrics for authentication. OneLogin has a free app and integrates with Duo Security, RSA SecurID, and more.

Cloud directory: Okta’s cloud directory (called “universal directory”) integrates into the active directory without any manual configurations. OneLogin’s cloud directory (called “unified directory”) also integrates with a number of apps including Google Apps and Workday.

Access management: Okta offers administrator access so you can manage permissions for users, groups, and specific applications. OneLogin provides access management for both on-premise and SaaS applications and to a range of devices and networks.

Password management: Both Okta and OneLogin offer password management. Okta syncs passwords between apps and user directories, so whenever a password is modified at directory level, it gets altered in other apps that use those credentials. OneLogin provides form-based authentication (a form to log into any system or service automatically), which removes the need for manually entering passwords.
