Stamps.com has been one of the greatest services that I have used in my company. It is so nice to just go to your desktop and print out your stamps and weigh your envelopes and packages.

You are automatically signed up for the premium service, without them telling you, rather than the basic. Cancelled it and I was charged again for a service fee to cancel.

Overall, they really came through for our organization during the pandemic. We ship out a decent amount of merch, so it was nice to avoid post office trips and potential Covid exposure.

Since USPS doesn't allow end users to print out First Class postage, I was looking for an online solution to meet the needs of my business since nearly all of my shipments are eligible for first class shipping. I tried Stamps.com because they offered me a free trial and then it became a paid platform. As a small business owner, the monthly fee was not worth it for the amount of shipping I was doing as my business was in its infancy. I moved over to Shippo which far out performs stamps.com with no monthly fee, the added benefit of live chat customer support and the same discounted rates. Stamps.com has tried to get me to come back a couple of times, but they just aren't worth the monthly fee in my opinion. 

Stamps.com is too expensive for what they offer

We mail just a little over 30 envelopes a week. I think Stamps.com fits well in the space of a small office but if you do more than that I think you might want to consider another solution. So better than getting actual stamps from the store, probably worse (experience, not price) than some sort of dedicated machine.

Also the Stamps.com security envelopes from their store annoyingly writes stamps.com on the inside. But it has the best compatibility with all the printers we tried at the best price.

It works, not exactly featureful but get's the job done.

Saves time, money, headache. Kudos to whomever came up with this idea.

Save a headache, use Stamps.com

The first couple of years the software worked great. I sell on eBay and use this software for all my shipping. It would connect to my eBay store, show me the list of orders ready to ship and mark them shipped as I would print the postage, just like it was supposed to. 

About three months ago their software stopped functioning properly. Instead of paid orders ready to ship I would get a list of random orders. The support team had no idea how to solve the problem and since then I can’t even get the courtesy of a reply email. They truly don’t care and appear to have no interest in fixing whatever is wrong in their software.

Stamps.com is mostly for the convenience of avoiding the post office. It allows you to buy and print postage from home and has a mostly intuitive website. However, the monthly fee can add up depending on what your shipping volume is.

Convenient digital postage allows you to skip the post office

Mailing can be confusing...lines at the post office are no fun.  To be able to process your mailing at your office is a big deal!
