AEM is extremely extensible and there are enough developers out there that is well versed in Java with knowledge of AEM for it to be a viable CMS of choice for enterprise clients.
AEM's Digital Assets Management is a bit difficult to manage in the sense it's not that easy to find the files you want to use at the right place. We ended up usually working with at least 2 tabs for it to be easier.

Adobe Experience Manager is a highly flexible and scalable platform, allowing organizations of all sizes to customize and extend its functionality to meet their specific needs. It is also compatible with most other enterprise systems, making it easy to integrate with existing IT ecosystems
Adobe Experience Manager offers an integrated platform for managing content, digital assets, and customer experiences across multiple channels. This allows organizations to create a unified customer experience across all channels, from web and mobile to email and print.
The product is highly customizable, but the amount of customization available is limited. This means that organizations may not be able to get the exact functionality they need out of the product.

AEM is the most effective platform for our team to deliver authorable options for content creation and deploy content through a publishing workflow.
Fully customizable templates and out of the box workflow. Easily supported and staffed for as it is one of the industry leading CMSes.
Cost of the tool is not insignificant. Does require full developer support to implement.

So much of the website could be updated with new content in a timely manor with a relatively small team managing the builds.
I used this tool on a daily basis at my last job for 2 and a half years. The templating options allowed our company to work within a standard set of page layouts that helped streamline the page builds and keep the site w/in brand standards.
From time to time some of the page templates seemed to be a bit buggy and not perform normal functionalities.

My company does consulting and custom deployments of AEM for our clients, and they all love how easy it is for them to publish and maintain their site's content using the components we build for them.
There is virtually nothing Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) can't do, if you're willing to put a little time into development.
The learning curve is steep and it's not always easy to find comprehensive self-help resources for the platform online.

Not much to like about AEM. Only benefit is that once you get used to using it, it doesn't change.
Not intuitive, difficult to use, very clunky.

Easy of use, I mean you can do all with Adobe if you just look for it. It make easier to send some files.
The could develop a free version for students. I mean Adobe is the best document manager but it's expensive for students

What I like most is that it make it easier to organize, adapt, and distribute rich media and experiences across the customer journey.
Sometimes the wait time by each screen until I reach the app I need disencourages me a bit.

The application allows for easily attaching bindings to have information pre-populate, which allows for a huge reduction of time for end-users.
The program has a habit of producing errors when utilizing Windows 10 OS, which can be a nuisance when in the midst of work.

Fillable forms that anybody can utilize as end user
The ability to finitely move text to fit desired format. Able to put much more legible information on one page than in applications like MS Word.
Would be nice to be able to preset preferred fonts and sizes rather than having to format each inserted field.

We use Adobe Experience Manager Mobile for sales enablement and to publish marketing materials. It’s a very dynamic product that allows us to reach our customers in all major platforms and gather data on usage. Because we also use it for sales enablement, we can also get insight into what marketing materials our sales force finds useful.
It takes quite a bit of maintenance if you don’t have the IT department to back you up. I’m also sure that many of the features are underutilized from a lack of technical knowledge.

I like how it allows media and other files appear on pages which gives the pages very unique feel, interesting and exciting to navigate
Sometimes it doesn't show on some devices like phone, tells you to update adobe which makes certain features on page impossible to view

I can see my assets for website management and potential user devices, which makes me able to manage how people interact with my business.
There are a lot of aspects to the app, and a lot of data that can be managed, so it can be overwhelming if you don't take the time and care to organize everything very carefully.

From the feature perspective it is very rich and good but if using it as a service is not an option, the deployment model is old and tricky.
It has many out-of-the-box features such as payment, eSigniture, photo upload, and many other form components which make it very easy for web development
The deployment model is very old. It does not containerize efficiently and the software need to be deployed in a virtual machine which is very old technology.

Adobe Experience Manager let us put some of our past concerns past us. We no longer have security issues like we had experienced in the past.
The features of the Adobe Experience Manager is what sets them apart from the competition! Although fit more for the enterprise level, it offers much more than competitors can.
Price point is high, however extremely worth the price if it fits in the budget.

This thing is powerful and can handle so many things I can't list them all. If you use Adobe software and have lots of files, you owe it to yourself to check AEM out and how it can help your company.
Because it can do everything under the sun, it's hard to navigate and difficult to see all of it's functions. The support contract is almost as much as the software

We wanted to personalize landing pages, nice and simple. As we continued to optimize, we determined that we we're better off building our own react.js library and leveraging Adobe Target for an even better experience at a fraction of the cost.
It is so incredibly easy to use and really is a wonderful compliment to the Adobe suite of products.
It was like a gold and diamond encrusted shoehorn and we felt like we were paying it in spades. The cost of this product was astronomical and the utility of these services is progressively outweighed by the continued imposition of data privacy and protection standards. While the price is a very distracting drawback, there are other issues which make this service somewhat overrated and otherwise biased by it's ease of use

The best part of lifecycle is that it literally does your job for you. Process implementation is repetitive and editing is hard. What lifecycle does is that it literally puts together all the processes in any process regardless of how complex or easy. The great thing is that it also offers suggestions on how to fix certain processes that it finds ineffective. A must have.
It's not the easiest thing to use right off the bat, it does take a while to learn how to use it properly and I think for most that's a big consideration.

What we primarily use this for is to create forms. This is great and offers a lot of flexibility in creating exactly what we what. There are a lot of validating and math functions that makes this a useful tool.
Granting rights to write onto the form you output is difficult. It does not work with some iOS platforms. Learning how to use the software can be incredibly frustrating.

Since my team is in different countries, this system allows multiple contributors to access and manage the content simultaneously.
Difficult at the beginning if you have no knowledge, you'll often have to figure out on your own and spend hours learning something. And also it can be a bit pricey for some small companies.

I love using this tool to create all of our website updates. It's so simple, almost anyone can learn to use it.
Sometimes when I activate changes to my account, it takes several attempts to get the new text/images to appear on our live site. The DAM usually takes a long time to load, too.
