The payment gateway we've preferred for ecommerce development projects

Reliable and trusted payment processing

Pros

Processing fees will be lower than competition like Stripe which larger volume businesses will benefit from.

Cons

The interface, lack of reporting, and complexity in setup is an issue for us in 2018 when options like Stripe can be setup and running in a few hours vs days with Authorize.net

Stay FAAAAR away!

2018-04-05

No benefits, only problems.

Pros

They're dated and they don't play fair, and that's why disruptive companies like Stripe and Square are making Authorize.net fall out of the public eye.

Cons

If they play that game with you, call your bank and issue a chargeback on them. Don't concede to this company or they'll just keep taking advantage of you.

Stripe Is The Best Preferred Method

Pros

I've used everything from Paypal to Authorize.net to Stripe.

Cons

I wish the rates were a bit more affordable or based off of volume.

Easy, Beautiful, Friendly Payment Gateway

2018-08-17

Pros

The interface runs laps around leading competitors, and is light-years ahead of Authorize.NET. It integrates seamlessly with a huge selection of web applications as well.

Cons

I really cannot think of any complaints.

Stripe protects you and your customers.

2018-04-05

So far so good with Stripe!

Pros

I've spent hours researching chargeback protection, and even selected providers for that. Stripe makes it very easy to implement every last suggestion the chargeback protection companies suggest, and even comes with an AI security filter to block transactions based on your business logic. (It's called Radar.) We still have yet to launch our private beta product which integrates with Stripe, so my experience with Stripe is limited. However, the fact that they offer so much security is 95% of the reason why I chose Stripe.

Cons

Companies such as Authorize.net, will throw away your account after just one chargeback instead of investigating the situation properly for their clients who bring them money.

Stripe rocks. Only wish it would give us additional templates

2019-03-06

Stripe is the only merchant tool you need. Add paypal and you've covered almost everything you can possibly need to get your ecommerce site up to speed, and use it to scale rapidly and handle all of it for you.

Pros

They have made it easy to implement and removed the barriers to ecommerce entry that we used to be forced to have to deal with cumbersome companies like authorize.net etc.

Cons

That all being said, the downside is that not everyone can use/implement stripe "out of the box" because their basic interface is sooooo basic that most have to create their own UI. Awesome for customization - truly - but more clumsy for lower level devs or non-tech people. Maybe in the future they can add a few more basic screens - especially in in-site administration management - to get things rolling faster. This isn't a "complaint" per se, rather just a suggestion. Only other suggestion might be to offer more tools to help with subscription management and shopping cart abandonment issues.

Online Payment Acceptance Made Easy

2018-08-08

Stripe has been our main online payment processor for the last three years. There have been very few hiccups or issues. We receive our payments within 48 hours most of the time. Integration is easy, account setup is easy, there are no monthly fees. It is a no-brainer.

Pros

Stripe integrates in to nearly any shopping cart or invoicing system that I have used. If an integration is lacking, the documentation is very clear. In most cases, performing the integrations is completely hands-off and literally only requires your username and password. By managing these integrations with auto-config scripts, it takes the hard work out of getting set up for payments.

Cons

You can get much better rates through an Authorize.net account, but those carry other monthly fees absent in Stripe's offering.
