Magento

Reviewed 3 years ago
Pros

I am currently working with a client who is using Magento for their site, and I like most that they seem to be able to understand the features/capabilities of the software which is great when reviewing design. From what I have been told the customer service is great and they believe that it gives them a lot to work with in terms of design and functionality.

Cons

So far, I don't have enough experience to dislike anything.

Great tool to get your eCommerce started!

Reviewed 4 years ago
Pros

Its easy to start using it, even if you've never had any axperience setting up an online store. Another cool thing are the tons of features and add-ons you can use on your site.

Cons

It can get expensive when you include development and hosting in your budget. It also can take a lot of time to add new sections, change products, or make any changes in general once your store or systems grows in complexity.

Powerful and reliable with a learning curve

Reviewed 6 years ago

We have recently launched our business to business e-commerce site using Magento Community Edition. While the learning curve to configure and develop in Magento is high and it requires significant server resources to run a speedy website, it delivers a powerful and feature-rich environment that can accomplish most any e-commerce task.

A good plataform

Reviewed 3 years ago

Magento is good, but is not the most fast platform to use for create a website.

Pros

I do not use a lot Magento yet, but I saw some good things until now. Magento has a great product catalog management and customer service which is really important for an e-commerce. You can put more than 500,000 products on yout site and can handle 80,000 orders per hour. Also this platform is used by people around the world, so almost every doubt that you can have, you can ask for one of this people ...

Cons

Some features is really hard to use, and you need to study to succeed. Magento was developed in PHP, and this is not some language that everybody likes... Also, Magento uses a lot of resources of your server, so sometimes, the website is slow to open.

Best E-Commerce Software Ever!

Reviewed 6 years ago

Magento give us different solutions based on our business needs. We love the software's cost-effectiveness. You don't have to pay for monthly subscriptions like with other e-commerce software choices, which typically limit things like the number of products, users and transactions available to you. Totally worth it!

Best Online Store

With over 250,000 merchants on board, Magento is one of the eCommerce industry's most popular self-hosted platforms, and it's not hard to see why. Magento's expansive features set and complete customizability make it an excellent platform for merchants who have the resources to best implement advanced technology.

Magento Review

Reviewed 6 years ago

This is one of the easier reviews I've ever done because Magento has never tried to pretend they are something different than an enterprise level software. The company knows its main market, so I would encourage those intermediate developers to download the free Magento version to try and build a site.

Great if you need enterprise level ecommerce

Reviewed 4 years ago

Solid and stable.

Pros

Lots of features, and plugins to extend the feature set. This has all the features you will likely need to launch a successful ecommerce store.

Cons

Compared to other solutions this requires a lot of hosting hardware to work, and more specialised IT skills to maintain. If you're hosting a mid to small project, then look for Shopify or woocommerce.

Specific Size of Business

Reviewed 6 years ago

Magento works best for mid-size to large businesses, mostly because it takes so much time, money, and energy to get your site up and keep it running. It's important that a store using this platform has the resources to hire a developer to do the heavy lifting.

If you want a new platform for Ecommerce don't use this one.

Reviewed 4 years ago
Pros

Not very much is nice about it other than some customization that is allowed When you build it out. There's also a cloud option now too.

Cons

It's just horrible. There is nothing really good about it. It's a pain to develop on this platform and customize it. It's just a hot mess all around.

Great software to get started, especially when building your first e-commerce website. The back-end is intuitive and straightforward.

Cons

It's a flipside of the same coin when you are using an establishing framework if you're seeking more customizations or alternatives, there are definite limitations as opposed to using an API.
