Pros

If you want something that's easy to set up and works great, look no further. It makes streaming easy and fun.
I was happy to get their lifetime deal and likely one of the better LTD purchases I have done. But seeing their quality, I can also recommend using it while you'd be on monthly subscriptions.
The customer service experience has been wonderful and the pricing is really worth the investment. I am very satisfied with this product.

Pros

What I like most about this software is its ease of use. For first time live streamers it's one of the best out there in my opinion.
Great for streaming with multiple participants from different locations. Great quality and able to broadcast to multiple places at once.
It's user friendly, the support team are fantastic, and it absolutely is worth the money for the extra customisation features.

Cons

I have trouble with volume from time to time, and it does have trouble with connection from time to time.
The one thing that we miss coming from OBS is being unable to further customize the layout.
This is ABSOLUTELY the worse customer service I've experienced in all of my purchases of software and my entire office is literally automated.

Cons

Awful design, interfaces, logo and overall look of their app/service.
Also, sometimes we have audio problems which we attribute to Streamyard, since that doesn't happen when having videocalls using another service, it's just that we can't stream from those services.
I resisted using Sgreamyard, thinking it would be very difficult to learn.

There's Potential

Reviewed 3 years ago

Melon has the potential to rival StreamYard, but it needs to at least cover the basic features that StreamYard already offers.

Pros

Melon is pretty user friendly. I like the layout for the most part. It's looks comparable to StreamYard at first glance.

Cons

My biggest issue is that there isn't an option to have bank for banners and ticker like on StreamYard. Users should be able to have multiple banners and tickers to choose from that are editable.

Vendor response

Hello Rickeya! Thank you for your feedback. We recently added multiple banners and tickers + ability to upload multiple logos. Hope you were able to try this out!

Melon App is pretty awesome!

Reviewed 3 years ago

Overall experience is amazing. It's easy to use and it doesn't consume that high bandwidth even if my internet speed gets slow.

Pros

The price is cheap compared to Streamyard and it's easy to use. I've been using Streamyard but I really like Melon App.

Cons

It didn't have multiple banners but it was just launched today and that's cool!

Vendor response

Thank you Reggie for your feedback! We are glad you enjoy using Melon!

Melon, my new choice for livestreaming

Reviewed 3 years ago
Pros

I had been using Streamyard to do live streaming. I was looking for something easy to set up and use, so Streamyard seemed to be the only option I could find. I wasn't completely satisfied with their UX/UI and while it was easy, I just never embraced it. I stopped streaming for a while, so I stopped my monthly Streamyard sub. I then saw a person on YouTube talking about Melon. It caught my attention...

Cons

A few features I'd like to see are being able to add a guest as a 'voice' only guest. Sometimes I need someone to just help me and another artist by reading comments for us to answer, but they don't need to show up on the stream!

Vendor response

hello John! thank you so much for your feedback and kind words, it means a lot! We keep growing and listening to our folks, hopefully will add a requested feature soon as well. thank you and happy streaming! Melon team

Great and Easy Live Streaming Platform

Reviewed 4 years ago

The learning curve for StreamYard is very short. StreamYard is so easy to use that it's almost plug and play. It's a tremendous option to consider if you're new to streaming.

Pros

StreamYard is very easy to use. The StreamYard studio may be the most intuitive live broadcasting studio I've used. It's easy to switch screens, share screens, and display comments.

Cons

The StreamYard account dashboard is a bit too barebones for me. It would be nice to have a section within StreamYard's live studio or dashboard that shows what features they've recently added.

Vendor response

Thanks for your review. We strive to keep StreamYard simple and easy to use while powering professional-looking streams and it looks we have succeeded in this. As for providing you with information of new features, we agree, it will be very valuable and we will implement this within a few short months. Thanks again for taking the time to share your experiences! Feel free to reach out any time. -Daniel.

A great software for live streaming

Reviewed 3 years ago

It was a great experience and a item that’s on my list to reuse in the future.

Pros

The fact that it has a great free trial and the fact that you can talk to your audience in perfect timing.

Cons

The price for upgrading and the fact there there can be some glitches when trying to give permissions.

Excellent solution for corporate broadcasting needs

Reviewed 2 years ago
Pros

StreamYard is extremely simple to use, compared to other broadcasting solutions we have tried, such as Wirecast, which makes it easy to deploy across the company. Controls are intuitive and reliable. Guests have no problem joining, even with a restrictive security policy in place.

Cons

Audio frequently bugs out on the studio side of things which leads guest to think there are problems with the broadcast. The broadcast itself is always fine though.

Look like a pro when you record and stream

Reviewed 2 years ago

Overall, StreamYard makes it easy for me to record and share videos as well as go live in multiple groups at a time. I also love how I can invite others to record with me, sharing more stories all at once.

Pros

I love how streamyard allows me to go live in my groups, multiple at a time, and shows me all the chats happening while I'm live. They program also gives me a professional look when recording videos with overlays and lables. StreamYard gives my videos a look of being "recorded in studio" when I'm just sitting at my desk.

Cons

If I were to make one improvement it would be that my clients wouldn't have to give permission to StreamYard inorder for me to see their names while commenting/live chatting during a stream.

There's Nothing Else Like It

Reviewed 3 years ago
Pros

I still can't believe StreamYard does all it does at this price point. We run frequent livestreams and online conferences, and being able to link guests directly to an in-browser studio with built in, easy to use production tools has made our whole lives better. It looks fantastic, our guests almost never have a problem figuring it out, and it's been extremely reliable.

Cons

StreamYard's single biggest missing feature is captioning or a way to pull captions into the system easily. It's really the only thing that we wish was built in.

Vendor response

Thanks for your review, Janae. We love to hear that your online conferences and livestreams are successful with the help of StreamYard's production tools! There are a couple of captioning options on the market, depending on the destination(s) you are streaming to. Please reach out to our support team, as they can help you find one that fits your needs and budget. Thanks again for taking the time to share your experiences! We are always releasing new features, so if you have any questions, please reach out any time. - Alana, Customer Experience Evangelist

I love it for it's ease of use. Hopefully more features to come in!

Reviewed 3 years ago

Love it and streamyard will always be my first choice for an independent streaming platform. Although, if you need anything else, like a complete conference/event management platform, then look elsewhere (such as Hopin, it's parent company).

Pros

StreamYard is hands-down the most easy to use live streaming studio you can have. Both for your own needs, as well as for guests joining. It's simple, like *really* simple to schedule and run events. Controls for changing scenes, heads-up-display comments, branding background and overlays is also very easy to do. Just upload a file, prepare these in advance, and click them to show up.

Cons

Some features that I would have loved to have are still missing, but hopefully they can be added soon with the recent Hopin acquisition: the ability to live stream 2 or more screen sharing sessions. At the moment, it's only possible to display just 1 screen share at a time. The other issue is that you can't choose who to show up in the single person layout, and it usually defaults to the person who...

Much easier than I expected! Versatile and powerful tool

Reviewed 3 years ago

I resisted using Sgreamyard, thinking it would be very difficult to learn. Boy was I wrong! I started using it as part of a Livestream Challenge, and love it. The free version has lots of hefty features, so for the average user that may be sufficient. I am going with the first tier paid version so I can switch out backgrounds for my green screen, add my own logo, and livestream to several places at once (i.e., Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube). I am really impressed with the ease and quality of this tool!

Pros

The learning curve is fairly easy, especially since they provide excellent tutorials; You can work in the "studio" ahead of time to get everything set up; Exceptional quality with the video and sound; I love how easy it is to add banners with urls, calls to action, and other info Nice to do a FB Live and be able to bring people on the screen with you -- and show chat comments to everyone. You can download the videos and use them in multiple ways.

Cons

So far I have not found a way to mirror yourself -- so it feels backward when I am recording! (Do not try to smooth your hair!! Hahaha!)

Innovative Videos Streaming Solution.

Reviewed 2 years ago

StreamYard allows me to run branded webinars, virtual meetings, and online training sessions anywhere with a web browser and internet connection. It provides tools to share my screen, poll my audience, and co-host colleagues. The multi-channel streaming feature allows me to simultaneously stream one video on various platforms to help me meet my audience where they are on their preferred platform. Also, the StreamYard in browser streaming capability makes it easy for my audience to join meetings without any software downloads.

Pros

StreamYard is a total solution for webinars, video streaming, screen recording, and many use cases. It works directly in web browsers with a clean-design user interface and efficient user engagement tools. The platform is like a professional studio equipped with easy-to-use tools and features that allow users to simultaneously video stream on various social media channels, invite guests, and engage...

Cons

The platform comes in limited languages, and there's no Arabic one. The service subscription prices are slightly high.
