Our commitment
Independent research methodology
Our researchers use a mix of verified reviews, independent research, and objective methodologies to bring you selection and ranking information you can trust. While we may earn a referral fee when you visit a provider through our links or speak to an advisor, this has no influence on our research or methodology.
How GetApp verifies reviews
GetApp carefully verified over 2 million reviews to bring you authentic software experiences from real users. Our human moderators verify that reviewers are real people and that reviews are authentic. They use leading tech to analyze text quality and to detect plagiarism and generative AI.
How GetApp ensures transparency
GetApp lists all providers across its website—not just those that pay us—so that users can make informed purchase decisions. GetApp is free for users. Software providers pay us for sponsored profiles to receive web traffic and sales opportunities. Sponsored profiles include a link-out icon that takes users to the provider’s website.

No pros were added to this review
Our community is in the process of a recall of two trustees. ND admins are interfering with the process because they are friends with the people being recalled. They take down pro recall posts that have not broken any rules, suspended pro recall accounts and promoted misinformation. It's been reported to ND and they have done absolutley nothing.

Easy to use, allows free communication, group discussions, and great functionality for all levels of app usage.
Difficult to remove negative profiles from site once reported.

It's really complementary to other social media platforms. Its local component is unique.
It takes some time to get used to the platform, it's a new system to learn.

Horrible customer service. Waste of time and money.
This is a scam - don't send them ANY money.
They took $100 per month but we were unable to get approved.

It’s a great app to have I feel more aware of what is happening in the community I live in
This app is so helpful for people to be able to communicate to their community about anything. Neighbors are able to let the community know if there have been people breaking in, lost animals, traffic hold ups etc
I wish there was a way to filter the app. Being able to see what is important to you. I do get a lot of random non important notifications so being able to filter through or have categories would be helpful.

Nextdoor is great for helping neighbors find a vendor or recommendation of any kind. It is nice that when you put a business and number it connects to a business page.
The app is incredibly slow, so slow that I rather not advertise and let customers use word of mouth.

Overall, I am indifferent using this app. I wouldn't say that it is extremely valuable or critical to my every day life in my neighborhood.
It is easy to use and read other people's comments and recommendations. It is very easy to post on the app and comment on other's.
The open forum feature is something that I am not crazy about. It isn't monitored on what you can post about and it seems like you have to weed through a lot of comments to get to topics of value.

I don't participate through posting often but I enjoy reading the posts and keeping update to date with the happenings in my area.
It is a great way to see what is going around you geographically. It is great for updates about lost dogs, need for childcare, robberies-- you name it!
I sometimes don't feel the most cybersecure when using this app. It seems difficult to control who is on the page that maybe does not belong there.

I’ve connected with neighbors through Nextdoor. I’ve also learned what is going on in the area through this platform. It has been a great tool to feel connected... especially during this pandemic!
This software provides and a simple way to stay connected within your particular neighborhood. It is a great way to stay informed and the product is so easy to use.
I do not think there is anything that isn’t done well.

I like the app but feel I get a ton of notifications a day and the posts are really not something I find helpful.
I like that the Nextdoor app is user friendly. You can post and search for topics with ease. It is a great way to share information.
My only issue with Nextdoor really is not a software issue, it is the fact that people do not use it in the manner it was intended.

Poor.
Nothing at all. I have hoped it to be a site populated by intelligent, tolerant adults.
Nextdoor has a reputation for enabling bullying, harassment, and other forms of denigration. It claims to be neighborly but is the opposite.

Valuable place to get trusted companies
It is my opinion there is a lot of censuring from the next-door admins

I like the For Sale marketplace feature, as well as the groups. Layout is pretty straightforward and it is very easy to react/comment to posts on your feed. Chat is also a great feature and user-friendly. I enjoy the crispness of the color scheme and the fonts generally.
There isn't really an individualized profile for a user to set up, which makes using the app a bit "scroll-focused". Also, getting rid of ads is not straightforward.

I like Nextdoor cause you can keep up with your neighbors for security reasons and events going on.
What do I do not like about Nextdoor is it shows your full address to everyone on the app.

I like that others can post from your neighborhood and you can see what's going on.
I don't like that there are posts from out of your area, like other states, that are irrelevant to you but still show up.
