Overall I am completely overly satisfied with OBS and the ease to record and stream my content on multiple platforms.
The ease of everything once you get it all setup to just click a few buttons and record or go live.
The least thing I like about OBS Studio is the lack of a tutorial on how to get everything setup for the first time. Not that it's truly hard.

We are able to publish our livestreams three times a week, with a high-quality production level, thanks to OBS. We have moved from a single camera setup to a multiple camera operation, including feeds from multiple computers utilized in our stream. OBS has done wonders for our livestreams.
OBS is a free software that allows users to record and stream video and audio production. The software is a quick download and install onto the computer, and can easily be integrated with cameras, audio inputs, logos and photos, device captures, NDIs (via an optional plugin), and many other sources that can make the streaming experience professional quality. Studio mode in OBS is especially helpful, with the ability to see the current live shot while setting up the next shot to be transitioned to the live feed. Our personal favorite feature is the screen capture ability, which we use to include slide presentations in our livestreams when needed.
There is a steep initial learning curve. Much of our production is done by volunteers, and it took some of them a while to grasp the features that OBS offers - and some of them are still trying to get a handle on all the features that OBS offers. Once this learning curve is overcome, however, OBS has enough features to make the learning worth the investment.

Its helping me a lot to control my camera crew (phone camera) to capture for instance church service while I take control in real time to edit and manipulate live views.
The product is not so easy to use first time but once you get the hang of it, its amazing. I have not used all the features yet. I mainly use it to connect my desktop pc to phone camera via DroidCam using OBS and the results are amazing in as far as performance is concerned
Its not user friendly, and for beginners and below average computer users, it can be a pain, as I realised when trying to teach my friends how to use it.

I have loved my experience with OBS, I use it every day to record my videos for youtube, and i will always use it!
OBS is a great way to record and stream your gameplay or just capture your screen. Some pros about OBS is the fact that its free, you can't go wrong with something that's this good, and free. It works great and has a lot of features!
Some cons about OBS, is the fact that you have to configure the settings to your liking, and for some people that could be difficult.

I watch youtube videos related to my business a lot, and on this particular day, I was wondering what this YouTuber uses to record his videos, I remember pausing and playing the video a lot that day, trying to figure out (whenever he goes to the taskbar) what he uses for his recording. Fast-forward to the end, I found out it was OBS Studio, immediately, I downloaded it, and to test it's quality, I...
My being able to integrate different video source, is probably one of the best things I like about the software, I can source from my screen as well as from my system camera or an external camera and equally arrange them the way I like.
Maybe it is there somewhere in the software and I haven't found out yet, but I haven't seen a way I could stream to different website all at once. Like streaming to Youtube, Facebook etc. at the same time.

I truly love the experience that I have had with OBS and I tell all my fellow DJ friends to use this software for streaming. Especially right now with the quarantine.
I love this software because not only is it free but it links to multiple platforms that provide live-streaming capabilities and video chatting/conferencing. I love it because for me being a DJ, I am able to stream live from anywhere without having any other apps that I would need to download.
I don't have anything that I don't like about it except for one thing...wish that I would of found this software earlier when I first started streaming live as a DJ.

We had a great experience using OBS out of the gate, but ultimately went with something with a more streamlined user interface.
OBS was a great first-try for our streaming worship services. We were able to download it and set it up quickly in response to COVID. It captured audio from our console well and worked with our cameras well.
The user interface for OBS is a little clunky until it is fully customized, which takes time. It is also harder to train new folks on using the software, and it is especially difficult for folks who aren't used to video recording software.

You might be a streamer. You might be a YouTube star. Or you might just be a person who wants to watch Blu-rays on a computer that only supports DVDs. Whatever your position, if recording video of any kind is on your agenda, then OBS should be the platform that delivers the results. With just one quick *free* download and install, you can integrate all of your audiovisual media into a single place,...
Having the ability to connect all forms of audio and visual media to a central recording platform (including that old VHS player you forgot you had, provided you can connect it through an HDMI adapter and capture card) makes OBS a fierce competitor in the recording and streaming markets. But that it’s free is what makes it a no-brainer to get. Seriously, if you make or record videos, why don’t you already have it?
Because it’s both free and highly versatile, the cons are arbitrary, but they nevertheless exist. Perhaps the biggest con is with user-interface. OBS doesn’t always remember my configuration, and I can’t always remember what I have to do to get my equipment working or my visuals viewable again. Switching from webcam to screen capture to whatever else can also be a pain if you forget which device is connected to which stream. For a free item, I’ll deal with it, but if this were a purchased item, I’d want it simpler.

I've used OBS on and off for multiple years with streaming. I stream mainly video games but it's been great for other things I've streamed to friends. It's got great features to tie into Twitch, as well as many streaming assistance platforms have plugins for OBS. I've never had any software related issues with it, even with Daily use for around (3) months. It did exactly what I needed it too, and even allowed me to setup a very nice green screen behind me for better quality streaming with ease.
- Easy to use once you understand it - Tons of guides online - Awesome plugins to popular streaming platforms
- Looks a bit dated - Can be confusing with layers / layouts if you don't look up guides

This is a great product to use for streaming and recording. I love finding the new features that they add every update.
It's always being updated and it is free. There are so many features that keep getting added. I love how it is easy to use.
I had some some trouble with the updates. It will freeze and shutdown occasionally. Once the bugs are worked out then they usually fix it. I want an easier to use projector feature also.

OBS is an awesome online streaming software that I have also used to record my lectures and to record my game plays. All these features are available in OBS for free. As for the me it is the best recording tool out there.
OBS is a great tool for streamers, because it can stream directly to Youtube. Gamers for example can play, record and stream with the app to Youtube. It is also free and has all features that a professional streamer needs. It is very flexible and easy to use.
The add-on management needs a bit of improvement

OBS is wonderful. My husband and i both use it and we cant be happier. Its so easy to use and gives use the ease to stream and do podcasts. Sometimes obs can act up depending on the update they do, but once they fix it, usually within 24-48 hours, its back to normal. I highly recommend obs software for all your streaming and broadcasting needs.
I like obs because it gives you the ease of wanting to broadcast or stream without to much of a hassle.
Every once in a while when obs has a software update, it does tend to have a couple of bugs from not working to stuttering for streaming. Other than that, there is nothing else i dislike about obs.

Overall OBS has been great, it does what i want it to do, whether it be streaming or recording. It does it all!!!
Let's start off by saying that this software is FREE, while the saying "You get what you pay for" is a valid statement, i think OBS is feature rich for the cost of 0$. You can link up all the different streaming platforms and customize the streaming, recording settings based on what you want. I was actually very surprised how in depth this software was for being freeware.
No complaints on my end, i haven't run into any issues with it lately, i am a happy user!

Great overall experience. I use this time and time again and have had no issues versus any paid-for program!
I used to use one of Adobe's products, but when support for that got dropped, I had to find something easy to use and inexpensive. OBS fit that bill perfectly. It's simple enough to allow me to select my streaming destinations easily, but also allow me to use my professional capture devices. As long as the computer can recognize it, it can be loaded into OBS and used as an input source. I typically...
Not much! I haven't hit any issues with streaming to different sources, and if anything, maybe had some issues with stream health, but that's an internet connection thing and I'm guessing OBS can't work magic and give me unlimited bandwidth.

I have used several different software for recording and streaming, yet I always come back to OBS. The ease of use, the versatility and features make it the best there is.
You can only stream to one service and have to use a third party provider to stream to multiple platforms. Having an integrated feature to stream all of your platforms and combine the chats to one would improve an already amazing bit of software.

Thankful that this software is (FREELY) available and works so reliably. Doesn't matter the video/audio source; it handles everything well. Absolutely no plans to switch to anything else (even if they were to start charging for it).
We've been regularly (weekly) streaming our services for 3+ years now, exclusively using OBS Studio to do so, and it's worked essentially flawlessly. While the options for configuring the software are abundant, they're still not TOO hard to figure out, and the ability to easily work with (in a variety of ways) any incoming video/audio are great. Plus, you can't beat the price!
Honestly haven't yet found any downside to using this software.

Once I got it set as I like it, it's been great. Everytime I stream it's literally "go live" and I'm up and running. I can count on one hand the number of times OBS has crashed during a stream.
It was pretty quick to get up and running with streaming, this was something I've wanted to do and this was the software that was widely used and after using it I can see why.
While it was quick to get setup and going at a "basic" level, the more advanced stuff was a little tricky but doable. I wish they had better tutorials on this stuff, such as adding "current song" playing or adding/moving alerts.

It has no cons except i think they should be charging something for it .

Personally, I like OBS studio because it is easy to use for me despite the many shortcomings there are in this software. I'm doing very well and what I like about this software is that it doesn't absorb too much energy, it doesn't cause a bug on the computer and my direct messages are always good because my subscribers are satisfied with the video renderings. Besides, I recommend it every time to content creator friends. It's the perfect tool for beginners and professionals who don't want to bother with other streaming software. I like OBS Studio, it's my favorite streaming software.
OBS Studio is a beautiful application that allows you to stream easily even without having any knowledge in the broadcasting industry. It is accessible, handy and easy to use. The different options are visible to everyone from the dashboard.
Like all other software, Obs Studio does not do the unanimity because it also has shortcomings that sometimes spoil the job when it comes to doing a live either on Facebook, YouTube or Twitch. The software itself is too basic because it lacks several options that make the broadcasts beautiful and attractive. The plugins to install them is a big problem. Obs studio needs to be improved. It is limited because the broadcasting time is eight hours while sometimes there are live shows that last a little longer.
