Pros

I appreciate the detail given for each order and there are also great functions like discount codes which makes using the website very useful. The layout, while basic, helps make navigating simple.
Shopify is a popular tool with great support that makes it easy to get started an online e-commerce business. It has also great integration across different platforms like Laptops/PCs and smartphones.
Shopify is fairly user friendly. It is easy to set up and has great tutorials and other resources to help the novice or less-technology-savvy out of us.

Pros

I liked the ease of set up of this product as well as the ability to run categorical reports. I also like the ability to use this as a time clock system too.
I have been so impressed. I have a lot of friends with restaurants, and I'm constantly singing NCR's praises.
Stable performance, easy to use interface, good quality stand, printers and drawers.

Cons

Customer service was terrible, they offered a CSV upload which was useless to me, or offered to uplaod my items for me, and charge me a crazy amount of money for the service.
Shopify is paid and when it updates itself it gives some sort of errors in the online store and finding the error is a difficult task.
The premium charges are a slight turnoff due to the monthly charges. Smaller stores will have to look over their shoulders to make sure that they make enough to cover the monthly Shopify charges.

Cons

Updating VAR sheet for NCR terminal after worldpay vantiv merger was HELL. I imagine transfering to another processor would be the same terrible experience.
Fundamentally the EMV pad was defective and not fully functional or compatible with the NCR POS. We removed it from the terminal and were forced to do swipe only.
NO ONE EVER EVER GOT BACK TO US _ what the problem is/was / what info they recovered/ why that it lost our stored info etc. OR WAS THE ISSUE EVER RESOLVED.

NCR Silver

Very basic POS

Customer service has gotten worse of the last few years and most have no knowledge of the product. NCR Silver and NCR Counterpoint should be merged but within NCR neither business unit has any clue what the other does for customers.

Pros

It's a simple solution to start up a small business like a coffee shop.

Cons

Overall software is very basic and fine for someone who's looking for a simple plug and play solution for a business similar to a coffee shop. NCR Silver offers no intgrations to Shopify or other major sites.

System Hasn't Evolved In Several Years

Customer service has gotten worse over the last few years and most reps really don't have solutions to anything that isn't basic.

Pros

Very intuitive to use and everything is cloud based.

Cons

The overall system hasn't evolved in 2+ years since we started using it. It's not compatible with Shopify nor is it friendly to any outside developers. There is not a transfer function between stores and the overall reporting is just basic.
