I appreciate the detail given for each order and there are also great functions like discount codes which makes using the website very useful. The layout, while basic, helps make navigating simple.
Their customer service is excellent. As with any company, it isn't perfect, but they do their best to satisfy and make sure customers are happy with their product and their service.
While I had heard great things about Shopify and was excited about all the customizations it was very difficult to set up and I ended up closing my account after my free trial expired.
Pros
Very robust payroll tool that is reliable for our business. Integrates with Benetrac to help us manage our employee benefits as well.
This software is awesome for small businesses. It's cost effective, easy to use and has lots of free trainings to learn the software.
Even from the beginning, I was happy with the supportive service I received. I made some errors during input and was pleased with the help I received.
Cons
Customer service was terrible, they offered a CSV upload which was useless to me, or offered to uplaod my items for me, and charge me a crazy amount of money for the service.
Shopify is paid and when it updates itself it gives some sort of errors in the online store and finding the error is a difficult task.
The premium charges are a slight turnoff due to the monthly charges. Smaller stores will have to look over their shoulders to make sure that they make enough to cover the monthly Shopify charges.
Cons
Just about everything else. Its not user-friendly, its customer service is terrible and we get so many complaints for employees, as the admin I have limited resources to help.
I had a customer service person later in my contract who literally ignored me. Paychex messed up tax withholding for every aspect of government, for both of my business locations.
I have been running payroll and in HR for over 17 years so have used many payroll services and Paychex is the absolute WORST - can't wait to switch.
