We used Squarespace as supplement to our student portal for our school. It was meant to be a central hub site and worked great for that.
I liked how easy it was to setup and customize the pages. It did not take long to learn how interact with the design GUI to make pages the way we wanted. Some very nice out of the box themes. I liked how we could setup different permissions (billing vs page owners).
While there are some themes it's somewhat limited unless you want to pay extra. We also wanted some more features like authentication options but we this isn't so much a ding on Squarespace as that isn't really their main market.

I was skeptical about using Squarespace for my portfolio, as I didn't want to deal with the overhead costs. However, once I got started, I quickly realized that it wasn't worth coding a site on my own for my portfolio when I should be focusing on the time to showcase my ACTUAL work (not my coding skills).
The block content approach makes it really nice to keep a clean and consistent layout on every page.
Sometimes it takes a little bit of time to tweak the style for text and content. Occasionally, I have to throw in some code to stylize content a bit further.

Comparing to other website builder, squarespace is above its competitors regarding the quality of the product and the ease of use. Very good product for non technical people.
Unfortunately, the missing piece is to be able to create structured content.

The templates and clean presentation yield a professional and competent website.
Creating new content isn't as easy as, say, WordPress, but it's worth it.

Email and Content have been my main strength and selling orders. With Squarespace I can build a skeleton in few seconds. Add the content and changes the design in the backend and simply push the content to my email subcribers easily.
Easy to create a website within seconds. Change the templates and design with few clicks. Email management to gather subscribers for 2x conversion. Content management done easily between creators and managers. Best CMS to work on limited sites.
Navigation options are difficult to move. Cost for small bloggers is little high. Platform has fierce competition

I have gotten clients from having a website on squarespace. I have also written a blog and had people thank me for writing the blog.
love how easy it is to set up pages, add forms, post blogs and use it. very user friendly. can even add codes. You can add where clients can book appointments or pay for passes and classes online.
price of the business template i have. and in order to switch would lose all my content.

-Gorgeous and clean templates -Takes the least amount of time to achieve vision in the sense that you have all the high quality tools and templates at your fingertips
-Surprisingly, the navigation is sometimes not as intuitive -Most of your content will get added through "content blocks", and for some reason it's not intuitive to access (you access them through little black circles that pop up on different sections of your page)

I used Squarespace when I got discouraged by the difficulty of Wordpress and learning Wordpress. I was also not sure if Squarespace would be SEO friendly or a rank as well on Google. Squarespace was fun, but it lacks customization and is not as universally used as WordPress.
This content management system is very pretty to look at and easy to use out of the box.You pretty much pick a template and and display your content.
Well the site is pretty to look at and does well for product showcases, this CMS is not necessarily a good informational or authority site platform.

The best part is their templates. Easy to use and beautifully designed from the start.
I was looking through my site, and it's hard to find negatives as long as your expectations are extremely complex. Blogging and basic content adding on pages is super easy. Stay within the confines of the template and put out great content.

I have used wordpress to setup small businesses for a long time. I was against Squarespace for some time, but once I got into it I realized that its user interface and overall system is quick and easy to use.
I love how easy it is to set up content. So long as your content is top notch, the Squarespace will give you what you need to make your site look professional .
There are times where I want to make things a little more custom in terms of features, but it's nothing that makes me want to quit using Squarescpace.

If you want a website quick with a predefined template and with rigid content, then Squarespace is the tool for you. We used this software when we didn't have that much content on our website, and we also didn't need to update the content that often. Then Squarespace was simply perfect.
Once we started adding more complexity to the website (e.g. 3D assets) we realized Squarespace wasn't optimal. There is support for HTML code blocks, but the editing part is not so easy to deal with. There are other tools out there which suits us much better, combining design and code in a completely different way.

Squarespace is easy to use. I've been working in web design and ecommerce for 10+ years and can vouch that squarespace is sleek, dynamic, AND easy to use. Figuring out some basic functions, specifically setting up the navigation can be challenging at first, but once learned it is a breeze. While other software platforms offer more dynamic options for complex projects, if you're looking for a simple website to get your message onto the web I recommend Squarespace as a solution.
Some design choices are limited, but that is too be expected with a simple user-friendly content management system.

Squarespace is a great content management system for marketing website purposes.
- It is extremely user-friendly for non-technical admins - great UI! - Page / template layouts are very well-designed, creating an end-product with a fantastic user experience.
- While you can inject custom CSS, its flexibility is relatively limited. - Functional customization is also limited. To that end, it's not ideal for large websites. - Price is very high compared to similar products.

It's very easy to customise and website and create varied content and structures
It does not represent the best value for money necessarily across all potential platforms

All in one solution for a web with eshop options to help you on your way to start selling online.
Squarespace is quite possible the easiest way to create a website. I really enjoy their ecommerce features with advanced options such as emailing your customers about their abandoned card.
Nothing substantial comes to mind. On occassion it is somewhat difficult to edit or add new content to your existing page.

Used to build a quick website and administer it. Upload new content as needed.
Easy to use, lots of great templates, design aesthetic way ahead of competitors. Good for blogs, portfolio or online stores.
Expensive, force you to buy domain thru them, can not easily transfer data from prior site or domain.

Not ideal for my needs, which are weighted more towards text than graphics. However, I think it's a simple, beautiful tool for building entry-level websites with lots of visual appeal!
Beautiful, easy to use, intuitive product that's great for displaying visual content. Wonderful for photo galleries!
Not very customizable for text-heavy sites with complex navigation.

Squarespace is fairly easy to use if you choose a template and just replace content.
Really, the platform is for folks (small businesses) that want to build their website themselves. I appreciate that bigger businesses also use squarespace, but the all-in-one builder/shop/seo/etc is quite limited. It is difficult to customize. Clients bring us what they've done and what has serviced them ok for startup and then want our team to build onto it and do a bunch of highly customizable shop, graphics, etc that just aren't easily achieved in the platform.

How robust and user-friendly it is. Upon signing up, you're presented with a whole plethora of templates that fit all sorts of business themes and meta-messages. You can then explore the templates and pretty much overhaul whatever you'd want to; I was able to easily add a live chat feature to mine. Not only that but due to its popularity, there are endless promotions on the internet that you can use to get a first time discount.
Squarespace seems to be set up with the assumption that you have some background in web-design because there aren't guidelines on how a site should be set up. The templates have no hard UX/UI reasonings and if you want to overhaul the content then it requires a deeper understanding of content strategy. Still great though.

Squarespace has allowed me to quickly create a content-driven website that’s beautiful, responsive, and reliable!
Some of the best things about Squarespace are its beautiful templates and reliability. It’s also very user-friendly and allows you to quickly create a website that looks great.
The only thing I can think of that would improve Squarespace is the ability to embed videos directly on your Squarespace website instead of requiring that the video be linked from a third party like YouTube.

We have used Squarespace for years now, after testing many online website builders they all seemed to have advantages and disadvantages. however with Squarespace I always seem to be able to build what I need with no limitations. I love the development tools that allow you to add and edit your own code.
Easy to use and learn. Fast loading and works in every screen size.
You can't export your website, but you can export some of the content into XML files so that helps a little in some cases.

I am a website builder. This was the first interface that I worked on a website through. It helped to teach me what was what when it came to website editing before I moved on to more advanced interfaces.
The reaction time on Squarespace tends to be fairly slow, and the blog interface is weak when it comes to building quality content posts.
