Although it is a wonderful and simple program, for beginners it has a big obstacle because of the difficulty of the user interface, because I used to use more professional programs such as Adobe Premiere and After Effects and professionals in general, it will be very easy for them
Sony Vegas Pro is a very useful program that we often need to use in our projects, as it can be used to edit video clips, and the program is characterized by the fact that it can create or modify videos in very high quality up to 4k and 2k. The program is characterized by an easy, comfortable and coordinated interface in terms of the tools that are used compared to other editing programs, and Sony...
One of the most common problems with Sony Vegas Pro and its recent decline in popularity is the delay in downloading new versions and new features, users are looking forward to new and powerful features to make their work easier in terms of the power of artificial intelligence to save time and effort

Use it to edit drone videos that I can share with my friends and hopefully the world which is fun. It's a great app to work with.
Feature-rich, many built in filters, transitions, asset bank, plugins, can output to many formats with many different output profiles
Requires a large screen (720p doesn't quite cut it), steep learning curve for a beginner, scrubbing o the timeline could be easier. Found it difficult to import all the videos I wanted from one directory. I also have fastcut and would have been nice to use fast cut to kick start the video and use Vegas pro to edit and tweak the final mix. A keyboard shortcut cheatsheet would help.

Overall experience with Vegas was good, I had to leave the software once I learned a lot and started doing more professional work. It's okay for beginners and budget/home projects. Price is too high, feels clunky and outdated and that's a con.
I use Vegas even before MAGIX bought it, the software is really great, and it helped me a lot when it was my only option a few years ago, when my computer wasn't that great. Vegas is the perfect choice for rookies on video edition, you can learn the basics on aspect ratios, cut-and-paste fragments of video, resolutions, audio parameters, etc. The tools can be pretty advanced and useful if you know how to use them, there are solutions for everything related to video edition on Vegas, you can even do some animation and automated effects. The rendering times are pretty great, even on low-end computers.
It's not the best for professional use and commercial projects, it can be kind of clunky and the learning curve is slow and very frustrating. Templates for text and cards on video feels really outdated. Animation and automation tools are not the best, while they work, they require, in fact, a lot of hard work to function properly. The prices for it are really high.

I know what to expect ; its generally reliable and does the basics well
Its editor is easy to use and has all the export options you would need and has reasonably good masking capabilities.
For transformations or FX generation - it is still somewhat lacking. I still need Red Giant tool to have proper audio syncing

Vegas Pro has always helped me editing my tracks and songs, and I won't switch it as I can't find another software that beats it's praticity to find and aply functions on your files.
What I like the most is praticity in Vegas Pro. You don't need a lot of time to learn the basic features of it, the record button is right in the first icon of the bottom bar. Just click and it starts recording. And is also really fast to just carry an audio track from another program and drag it into the recording part. Easily you can start editing it.
Even if it has a lot of praticity, is really not intuitive to cut just a little part of a track. You need to select it, drag the timer in the right spot and be carefull to don't cut another track that can be above or upper to the desired one, otherwise you will cut all of the tracks in the same spot, and sometimes the cut part erases the other side of the track, making you need to copy and paste it again,

I liked how there are keyboard shortcuts for tools. The interface is really clean and straight forward.
Selecting the video format to render can be difficult as some formats/options state 1080p but look really low quality. In order for videos to look higher quality certain advanced settings within specific options needed to be tweaked which was confusing for the average user. I had to follow certain YouTube tutorials in order to render my videos to achieve a level of quality that I was satisfied with.

VERY VERY positive and ive enjoyed making every video ive put out with this product.
There are so many options and capabilities with this software and although it does take some time to learn, it is for sure very useful and good at putting the options in your hand.
The only problems ive had with sony vegas is an occasional crash but at a much lower rate then the competitors.

I'm very happy with the software. Sure, there is a bit of a learning curve but once you master the shortcuts and the logic... Editing becomes super fast, and you can automate most actions through scripts or plugins.
First : It's a highly flexible tool for whom you can code your own scripts to automate actions. Second : The real time preview is a real time saver. Third : It's affordable, and upgrades to get the lastest version are cheap. And most importantly : It doesn't slow down your computer or crashes as much as it's direct competitor. So that you can render your project while still working (in your browser for instance) on something else less computer intensive.
The out of the box "picture in picture" feature was overly complicated without a plugin. The multicam was cumbersome. Not sure if they improved it in their latest upgrade to something faster to produce and easier to edit like in Final Cut Pro X.

I have been using Vegas Pro in an official capacity since 2011, with history using it as early as 2008, currently on Version 016 (Build 0352) as of typing: This software has served as the only resource that I and many of those who make up my production team use to produce our local programming, due to its noticeably easy User Interface and extreme ability to be enhanced through Third Party extensions...
~ Significant levels of Ease of Access for multiple media file types of many ages and forms. ~ Expansive resource set to allow for more Extensions, Special Effects, and Scene Transitions to help mature and evolve the software's capabilities. ~ Support for High Framerate footage and countless forms of Colour Profiles. ~ Usable on virtually every possible Desktop or Laptop hardware combination over the past matter of decades.
~ The Digital Version does not come with an expansive Instruction Manual to understand how to use every effect, specifically in regards to Third Party resources that can be added during the life of the application's run. ~ Massive amounts of inexplicable Glitches and Crashes (though many can be fixed through manual tweaking and official Bugfix builds). ~ Occasional Requirement to reinstall QuickTime...

Incredible. I am a musician/composer and sound effects designer, and I work with video and music a lot. So it's nice to have all my niches use ONE editor/brand. Whether I'm working on audio, or audio and video, Vegas Pro is invaluable as a powerful tool to get through any type project that comes up. I honestly believe that of all the editors, Vegas has to be the best choice for intuitive design. The interface for Vegas is very logical and intuitive. Perfect for those of us who are artists.
Overall ease of use. All the important features are easy to find and use, and there's plenty of features that go levels deeper when you need them.
This might be an issue I would suggest gets resolved. And that is the compatibility between past projects from former versions of Vegas... for example, Vegas 11 to Vegas 20. I wish they had a way to open older versions of Vegas without major snags. Some kine of an interface that converted say... a project from Vegas 11 (or other) to the current version 20. I say this because I have project that are on going... and sometimes it would be nice to just import older edits to current projects.

The software can be used to create all types of media: Videos, Still images and Sound mix. the exported formats is common formats for all media types You will find in the software tools in Adobe the same tools is separate in several programs. It's possible to turn a layer into 3D mode similar to after effect. As a beginner you can start with the software is intuitive to use and gives you the option to adjust the project settings to the video you drag in automatically. You can easily create custom settings for everything and save for next time thus saving time.
If you plan to be hired to work in a video editing place, you usually asked for experience with Adobe or Avid softwares, because the industry works mostly with these softwares. There are some default features that damage the quality of the video like a resample that needs to be remembered to disable, but you can do it one time and save the settings. sometimes the software can be freeze and crash and you can to lose some work if you didn't save often, but after the last version its not happen often and there is random auto save but you better not trust on it.

Simplicity when editing, however, we have to be very careful: after executing each command, remember to press control + S so as not to lose work in case of a bug, which is common in vegas.
Easy to import, edit texts, insert effects and render.
I didn't find the feature to configure automatic adjustment when pasting audio and video tracks after cutting during editing. I have to do this manually. That, plus hours of editing, is time consuming.

Vegas has been my go to editor for 15 years. I can customize nearly every option of a render format quickly and easily.
This is the most intuitive Non-Linear-Editor I've used. What takes several clicks in other editors is a mouse-drag away on the timeline.
They recently changed ownership, which was not without a few bumps in the road. Thankfully it is all ironed out.

For an inexpensive and available editing software, I always use this for its ease of use and accessibility. It is what I use rather than other expensive software that only recognizes a certain type of computer.
It was easy to use from purchase with all the templates at hand. The visual layout isn't crowded and the tools for editing are understandable from the get go.
Sometimes crashes for a laptop edit with big size files of videos but the best thing is it saves from the last point of editing.

-Expensive -Can crash -Can take a while to render -So much stuff it can be hard to pick what to use

It was the first real video editor I started to learn in so I have personal connection to this software. It has pretty good layout and work flow. Also great shortcuts (spacebar for example).
You have modify your setup or your videos would get smudged. Also it is sometimes hard to find correct export settings.

It has the features I need in order to make the project I am making more appealing, and because I find it user friendly, I am able to finish my task with ease.
The most simplest transition and effects makes a great impact already on the video editing that I had done, it is indeed user friendly and already recommend this software to my friends, it really helps me to be able to finish the task of video editing quite fast.
The Video Event FX is useful but I always had a hard time navigating it.

It is quite natural to use multiple video editors to suit various needs. The greatest thing I like about Vegas Pro is that it works with other well-known video editors such as Final cut pro and Adobe premiere pro making it easier for you to import and export projects between these editors.
It gets the job done but rendering can be improved

VEGAS PRO is an excellent editor, very reliable, and with many very useful tools that allow us to put any idea, we have into practice. The rendering process and the add-ons that can be installed to the program are key to extracting maximum performance from this editor. VEGAS PRO is a tool with which you can carry out high-quality professional work. It is an excellent program and a great alternative to Adobe's Premiere.
VEGAS PRO is a great video editor, it offers many very useful tools for audio and video editing, there is a lot of freedom when creating audiovisual content, you can do what you want because the tools allow it. In general, the rendering process is very good, it works fast and you have many options in choosing the rendering settings. The interface is quite friendly and attractive. In conclusion, VEGAS PRO is a great program, highly recommended.
The learning curve when starting to use the editor can be very slow, and on top of that, update support is currently lousy. Also, many processes such as rendering can slow down excessively.

VEGAS continues to impress as a low-cost option to step into a NLE software suite. However, with free options like Davinci Resolve now on the market, and applications like Final Cut Pro and Adobe Premiere also being on the market, VEGAS is really relegated to simple tasks for the independent content creator.
VEGAS is one of the least expensive and simplest ways to get into editing software beyond the basic software that comes with your computer or that you can find for free online. We really like that it is based on a one-time purchase, and is not a subscription software that we have to keep renewing.
We felt very limited in the formats that were supported to edit in, as well as the options for exporting. It feels like the software wants to make decisions easier for you, but hides the crucial minutia of the export window which is frustrating for our editing staff.

Very good for color corrections and easy to create and edit text and titles, Vegas have simple file management and you can put various plugins to support your editing.
Should have integrations with others Magix software it would be very useful.
