Easy to use, fantastic effects

Reviewed 2 years ago

It was good when I first tried it a few years ago, but it's continued to improve. The workflow is easy and intuitive, and the effects are what I'd expect in an expensive product.

Pros

I've found VSDC to have an intuitive workflow and a robust selection of amazing effects. It has everything I need (and then some) to easily make the music videos I'm working on. And the finished products are top-notch professional quality I'm confident in sharing with the public.

Cons

There's not much I dislike about VSDC. If I had to pick something, maybe having to pay for premium features, but the price is practically free (less for a whole year than Adobe Premier is for one month), so I don't have any complaints at all.

Still relevant to-date. I love it!

Reviewed a year ago

VSDC is still very relevant up to date. It is timeless and has a lot to offer at an affordable price. I still use it for its simplicity.

Pros

Very versatile and loaded video editor with all functionalities for remarkable video editing. The VSDC has a very familiar user interface to applications like VideoPad. It was an easy pick for my first-time video editing practice and I loved it. From the onset of video import to export, every step is very easy for any user with or without video editing experience. The import function is able to detect...

Cons

Its non-conventional video editing options became problematic when I tried switching to other applications such as Adobe Premiere Pro. I had learnt so much with VSDC but felt like I was back to ground zero. With that said, I would still pick it up again for first time video editing.

VSDC Video Editor

Reviewed 4 years ago

This Software can be crowned as the best video editing software to produce in this decade for a reasonable price. Before we purchase the pro version we had to utilize the software to experience the effectiveness of the software to our company. Indeed, it has exceeded our expectations as this helped our organization to produce a plethora of videos to attract customers and meet the sales targets. This has many handy features that help us to make various videos with the picture in picture and side videos. Last but not least we can use this to produce solid graphs for presentations also. I highly recommend this tool for your video editing purpose.

Pros

1. Allow users to experience maximum features to make quality videos in the free edition. 2. Quite easy to learn as icons on the interface help to interpret the outcome for the edit. 3. Return on investment is beyond the limit since the price of the software is relatively low compared to the competitive brands in the market 4. Enable to export the completed video to various formats (YouTube, Instagram, and social networks) 5. The resolution, encoder mode and aspect correction can configure to have a low size video without losing great quality from videos. 6. Making green screen video can be done less than minutes. 7. Advance features are enabled to make text, parallax and rewind effects for videos.

Cons

1. Fewer shortcut keys to acquire the desired output within seconds 2. Object position setting not placing to the right place in the timeline, though given the right command 3. Too many icons sometimes hinder the editing time. 4. Screen capture not having continuous smoothness 5. Need to add a shortcut key in the interface to contact a support person 24/7 to support creators

Fixed what i struggled with some high end softwares

Reviewed 2 years ago

Overall, VSDC works great both in the free and Pro version. You have a feel of familiar UI as the tabs are similar to many other programs such MS office.

Pros

At as low as $19 for the Pro Version which I probably didn’t have an immediate need for, VSDC made a case for that spend. Mainly because of the ability to fix jittering videos which I was having a problem with when using some other softwares. I desperately was looking for a quick solution and a friend recommended it. It worked! VSDC hardware acceleration is very intuitive and works with low specs computers which I quite often use.

Cons

It would be good to have the ripple delete or fill gaps function. It would save some video editing time. Of course the cut out fragment function but does not come close to ripple delete function.

My simple basic video editor.

Reviewed 5 years ago

VSDC pro is awesome for starting a video channel or make an awesome home video for a fraction cost of a what premium video. If you need to use advanced features like transaction slo-mo than try some other more premium software. I think for this price its a steal.

Pros

I can now edit my home videos with ease. I love the simplicity of this software. I can use all the tools available to create an awesome video from clips. Add more timeline and create an awesome home video. Create tutorial for my users and how-tos. Create videos from my picture is an awesome experience and it makes it flawless.

Cons

It is not very organise. Cant import more then one videon at a time. Not many effect to apply for your video. iIt just get your work done.

Dynamic, affordable, worth the learning curve

Reviewed 8 months ago

Overall using VSDC has been a great experience and I keep going back to it again and again. It has its limits, which can be frustrating in the short term, but the overall package that VSDC Video Editor provides makes it a favorite. It is also a favorite of content creators online so finding answers to problems is easy.

Pros

I love that with this free product I can do high-level customizations of videos. I especially appreciate how thorough and precise the text-add feature is, as I do a lot of adding subtitles for my music. I'm always impressed at how much this free program can do. The online support is good with thousands of tutorials if you ever get stuck. I love how much control I have over my projects.

Cons

The menus are not necessarily intuitive. To be fair, this is a problem that media editing programs have as there is SO much you can do and SO much to cover. But I do find myself googling a lot to figure out how to do something, even if I've done it before. You really need to get familiar with this program to use it quickly.

VSDC for personal or low budget video editing

Reviewed 2 years ago

We used VSDC editor for about 5-6 years before switching to a professional editor, it can teach you the basics of video editing, allows you to do simple editing functions and also allows you to save your work in many of the standard video formats.

Pros

The best part of this software is that it has a free version which is a sophisticated editor for any home video editing. If you're just looking for editing your own videos at home this is an easy to understand and use or configure app. It also gives you the options to save your video for internet or personal use that many of the professional editors don't allow.

Cons

It has its limitations and not very useful for professional video editing, it lacks many of the high quality editing functionalities that professional editors such as DaVinci Resolve or FinalCut Pro provides. If you're looking to do professional editing this might be a good starter program but it lacks many functionalities.

Effective Video Project Creation

Reviewed 4 years ago

Our ability to effectively edit recorded presentations for YouTube promotion, Google Slide presentations and some for fun is why I am pleased to currently use, plan to continue to use and find the value for the cost to be very high.

Pros

It's intuitive. Not only am I user, but I have to train others on how to edit our weekly videos. It's also flexible in the type of output. We create videos not only for YouTube but for other educational purposes, so to have the ability to export the video in a variety of formats has been great.

Cons

I'm a little bothered by past updates which have changed the menuing and layout of the product. As I mentioned above, I have to train others, and these changes can be very damaging to those who 'need to go through a process - step by step'.

One of the best professional video editor for Windows expecially on low end devices.

Reviewed 3 years ago

One of the efficient and reliable free video editor available for windows. I'm not going to switch from VSDC any time soon it handle all my task pretty well.

Pros

Highly stable. Efficient and Least resource hungry (I run VSDC in an Intel Celeron 2 core N3350 it ran smoothly and i used 1 - 4K and 7 - 720p videos + many transition effects + Text ). Great amount of tutorials by the guys from VSDC on YouTube and in their own Website. Hardware acceleration. (Has a lot of option to play with). Changing preview quality in player screen. (Very useful for low end devices). Lot...

Cons

Couldn't find the keyboard shortcut for trimming tool (Every time i had to open the editor tab to use trim) Only windows version available. I couldn't find any other cons.

Money Saving and Flawless Editing Experience

Reviewed 2 years ago

It’s value for money, easy to use, and faster than other free software. I can edit videos here for YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook in a short time with effective features that my viewers find interesting. Overall, my experience with VSDC has been efficient so far.

Pros

In this software, one can easily merge different kinds of media like video, sound, pictures, and other ones. The dragging and dropping options are super easy to use. It also comes with a recording feature where we can capture videos from external devices. I could also save my projects in any format like mp4/mav and likewise. I find VSDC reliable to use and money efficient.

Cons

Each time it updates, it gives me a different layout and I have to re-study the whole process of video editing every time. Plus, it's tough to watch video previews while editing. Even though it’s fast and simple to edit, this is a drawback for me.

VSDC is a full featured (free) or advanced (pro) Video editor you can grow with

Reviewed 2 years ago

Overall VSDC is a great full featured (free version) and great advanced (Pro subscription) video editor for those looking to start in video editing with the tools they can learn as they grow to more advanced stages. It is a remarkable video editor for either the free price or the pro price. For the cost of about 4 McDonalds meals per year, you can have a great video editor.

Pros

I liked the initial ease of use, and vast array of options such as being able to highlight text with custom colored boxes, circles, ovals etc.

Cons

To make most advanced adjustments there's no sliders. You have to know the equation for X, Y and Z axis and adjust the parameters by changing numbers with no visual scale or slider. I'm a visual person working with a visual focused (video) software so the decision to omit sliders is an odd one.

It helps me to get my voice over, subtitling, animation and editing jobs done like a Pro. The renewed price is great to compare to other similar softwares.

Pros

The team often release many features and a free upgrade for Pro. members. I can take out the green background and put any background on my videos. Animation features are great. I can create my videos like a Pro with a tiny annual fee.

Cons

Sometimes, the team change the look of the software after upgrading. I am kind of lose my way around.

Best Video editing software to test paid features in free

Reviewed 4 years ago

Well, I'm a professional freelancer and I was once looking out for a free video editing software for promoting my services by making videos. But most of the video making software programs are gives paid selections or 7 days free trial version. Then in the end I find the software via youtube and the most interesting thing is that it offers me to test many paid features in free.

Pros

[1] Offers paid features such as video converter, disc burner, 2k/4k video supporter. [2] Also provides a free screen recorder and video capture. [3] Provide video tutorials for making the software user friendly. [4] Consume low memory(RAM).

Cons

I used its VSDC Screen recorder during taking my online classes in ZOOM, but it makes my PC slow to work. Also when I click on start drawing button and attempt to move the VSDC screen recorder bar, its got stuck & didn't move if I not stop the drwing option .

Cons

Video playback and stabilization is kind of bad on low end pcs especially for those who have single or dual core processors adding support for low end pc would be kind

Cons

There are allot of editing tools, take advantage of any training videos and you will pick it up quickly.

The video editor I always use!

Reviewed 2 years ago
Pros

Personally, I find it hard to find a video editor that has every feature I can look for. Other video editors are either very expensive, or is hard to download for me. But I installed VSDC Video Editor with ease and on top of that, is inexpensive. It has all the features I can ask for. For instance, putting texts, filters, creating slideshows, screen capturing, etc. I always use this video editor to edit my videos to be submitted to my school, and always get high marks along with it.

Cons

When I first started with this application, I honestly found it hard to navigate through and to use different kinds of their many features. I think using VSDC for beginners can be quite hard and frustrating at times. But VSDC Video Editor actually has their own Youtube channel and website anyone can visit to help out with that.

It's OK if you are on a budget.

Reviewed 3 years ago

I like that's it is free, or if you wish hardware acceleration, for modest annual fee upgrade. You can do basic editing with it, if you're willing to take learning curve. But some online video editors these days make life somewhat easier. At the same time, it's easier than Adobe alternatives and much cheaper.

Pros

It does well the basic tricks, the edits and cuts. I like that there's also very functional free version. Supports different formats.

Cons

I never quite figured out how come Zoom recording, edited on VSDC, for youtube output grows tremendously in size. Like editing 100MB Zoom recording to export into VSDC Youtube output is much bigger than the original source file? I also did not find an easy way to sync audio when using more than one camera.
