Pros

Great solution to build landing pages / small & big websites with low budget - but if you got the money the results will be amazing.
If you are a person who has many thoughts that you would like to publish or perhaps you like fashion and want to show that interest, then WorldPress is your best friend.
WordPress is really an amazing content management system, that allows you to build stunning and amazing websites within few hours.

Pros

The backend functionality is incredible and the product support is amazing. FDA truly cares about my business and has been such a responsive, key partner in all ways.
Thank you India and to your Team of helpful, patient, friendly and professional reps. Sincerely, Cynthia Brier, Property Manager, Tequesta Palms Inn, Tequesta, Florida.
Highly recommend your product for price, ease of use and especially your helpful service dept.

Cons

We've found ourselves stalled out badly with problems at times because a theme or plugin had terrible support.
The biggest problem with WordPress is the lack of understanding that it is a blog software.
As a result, I'm forced to disapprove and delete spam comments individually, and when you get hundreds of these kind of spam comments each week, you can imagine that it can be frustrating.

Cons

Lack of app for smartphone access, inability to stack yield management premiums and inability to drag-and-drop room assignments.
I have experienced some frustration with the limitations of the software/customization capabilities, and the clunkiness of use on the user side of things (PMS) and the client side of things (IBE).
Revenue tools are limited and require a lot of manual data entry versus be able upload large batches of data or rate adjustments. Can be glitchy at times.

Great for blogging novice

Reviewed 4 years ago

Been using Wordpress on and off for about 10 years. It’s a great program.

Pros

The ease of use for someone who just wants to sit down and write a blog is phenomenal. I use this program to share research updates and comment on progress in the field. I am not a web developer, but Wordpress makes it pretty easy to post thoughts quickly from one location. I also really enjoy the functionality on the backend.

Cons

None yet. It works with mobile devices or desktop so that i can post from anywhere.

I use Wordpress for my personal website.

Reviewed 4 years ago

I can update my website from anywhere.

Pros

It has plenty of design templates to choose from and you can modify them with different color schemes to give your site a unique look and feel. It is easy to add photos and links in the text. The page designs are clean but not too clunky. It is easy to change things if you want to go in a different direction. It was very easy to register my domain and start editing right away. The price is very affordable for personal websites, blogs or if you have a small business and are looking to establish an online presence.

Cons

The content management system is a little clunky at first. It took me awhile to figure out how to move pages around on the front page.

The benefits of WordPress goes on and on and on and on.....

Pros

WordPress has a community like no other. If you ever have a question on something, almost every time someone else has already encountered the same issue so resolutions are readily accessible. There are sooooo many themes and plug-ins to allow you to set up any type of website you can think up (e-commerce, blog, portfolio, etc.) and always stay up-to-date.

Cons

I don't know what's not to like! For 98% of the people out there who aren't looking to spend thousands on a website design, why go anywhere else?

WordPress

Much better than the alternatives I've tried

Reviewed 3 years ago

I've been using WP for many years, first as a free blog and as business grew starting using it more and more. My latest venture is with product which I'm having trouble with, but I'm quite sure I'll figure it out with time and/or help. Having used Squarespace as well, I recognize just how easy WP is to use.

Pros

I find Wordpress very easy to use. It offers a lot of ways to customize (I use the Business version) and to make it your own. I've had help from their team and it was very quick and very good. There are a lot of integrations with other programs as well. The cost for the business version is quite good as well.

Cons

WP easy cart doesn't seem to work easily. Someone tried to purchase an item and it didn't take them anywhere. I have it set up incorrectly clearly, but it isn't obvious where I have the mistake.

Wordpress is a no-brainer for any online business

Reviewed 5 years ago

This is the hub of all of what I do. It allows me to have my business online and gives me the freedom to run it anywhere.

Pros

There is unlimited functionality and potential. I can't imagine being limited in what my sites can do and offer. I can have one site that streams my Podcasts, one that is the face of one business with the store, marketing, relationship nurturing content; a site for my members only. Seriously the ability to customize and adapt a website to fit anyone's needs in limitless with Wordpress.

Cons

There is a level of maintenance that is required in running a wordpress site to make sure that updates don't create conflicts in plugins, themes, etc. But overall, if cared for and maintained properly, there isn't a lot of cons here.

On the go website builder

Reviewed 4 years ago

Its very impressive and easy, I can write blog posts anywhere and anytime. I can reach my audience regardless of where I will be and also edit previous posts.

Pros

I used Wordpress to design my website, with no coding experience.I had my blog up and running and only had to ask a few questions from a friend who is a website developer. There are a wide variety of templates to choose from and they are customisable so that even the original template will not be similar to the one you would have designated and even anyone else chooses the same template it will be different from yours. It also has tutorials and videos to assist.

Cons

Some themes will have the name of the theme at the end of the page so its boring to have another signature name on your page. The mobile version has few options when editing the website.

Best option I found for my blog

Reviewed a year ago

I really like how easy it is to customize everything on the site and how easy it is to check your stats from anywhere, including your mobile device, which is awesome!

Pros

What I like the most about WordPress is the fact that you can customize your site or blog just as you need it with so much flexibility and great themes available.

Cons

I feel like the option to add Google ads should be included with the Premium package because it's already quite expensive for lower income countries.

We have utilized this to fill a gap with student information and communication. The process of set up is easy and can be managed/administered from anywhere with ease (ie mobile vs desktop).

Pros

Software is very easy to use and administer among a team. Could use some easier transitions when trying to transfer ownership of account; however, the rest is very easy to use and easy for our students!

Cons

Not easy to transfer ownership of account if someone leaves the company. This is probably the worst part of the account ownership process.

I have been building Websites on WordPress since 2009 and since then I have not looked anywhere else. The platform is so powerful that around 30% of the entire websites run on WordPress.

WordPress

Helps take our website to the next level

Reviewed 4 years ago

Overall I would say that WordPress is the best resource we have used at our company to create our website and content. It is fairly easy to use and offers a ton of different options when it comes to picking the layout of a blog page

Pros

WordPress is very easy to use. The feature I like the most is that whenever I add new content to WordPress or make updates/changes - those updates are made immediately and I can see those changes on our website. In other instances, I will make changes and it may take several hours in order to see the changes on a webpage or blog post. I appreciate the immediate gratification of being able to see the updates immediately.

Cons

Sometimes there are so many tabs of different options on WordPress I can get bogged down in where certain pages are. On my account homepage on WordPress, it might be easier if there was an overall "Search" button where I can search anywhere throughout all my tabs and sections if I am looking for something in particular.

Wordpress Still Has It's Roots as Blog Software

Reviewed 4 years ago

Not a big fan of WordPress but those the love it swear by it. I just seem to swear at it.

Pros

Easy for most users to set up. Plugins are very easy to find and install. The editor is one of the best I've seen for people with no coding skills. Handles SEO well.

Cons

One of my biggest problems with WordPress is there is no organization to 3rd Party plugins. When you install them, it's a guessing game where it's located. Could be in Tools, could be in the root menu, could be anywhere really. Menu management is awful. Without a third-party plugin, you are stuck with the basic access levels.

More than a blog

Reviewed 3 years ago

Have had an extremely positive experience with WordPress. We have done all levels with it as when we first started out we had our internal offices just put together a site that looked nice until we figured out what exactly we wanted to do with it. Eventually we bought a template and then hired out to have them further customize that.

Pros

So many templates to use - both free and purchased Can be hosted pretty much anywhere (we use GoDaddy) Can make a nice looking site without much web experience

Cons

There really isn't a con, you can do something simple for free with a bit of tech know-how or you can go all out and buy a template and hire out someone to make your site truly unique. It's all about how much you want to put into it.

The biggest benefit I get from WordPress is the power and control to create the web site I had in my mind.

Pros

WordPress is a useful, powerful tool for creating a web presence. The concept is simple enough, but with so many plug ins and themes it does take some time to learn the full potential. Knowing what a program like WordPress is abstracting under the hood makes it pretty amazing it is as easy to learn as it is. There are tons of free and paid themes that have their own quirks, then there are tons of plug ins, as well. Overall, it is a very vital piece of my business. There are now even easier tools that abstract even more of the web site building details, but I like having the control that WordPress affords.

Cons

There isn't a lot not to like. Yes, there is a learning curve to getting sites off the ground, but they can be hosted anywhere and you have a ton of flexibility. WordPress is a mature enough tool that there is a lot of information about how to use it out there, which in itself can be a bit overwhelming. Overall, the Pros far outweigh the Cons.
