Pros

Overall, I am very happy with WordPress and highly recommend it to everyone who wants to have a bang for their buck. It's fully functional and a very powerful CMS app.
The plugin marketplace is great, you can always find a great and suitable theme for your website needs. WP is famous enough to have integrations with almost every service and company out there.
I love being able to preview any and all changes before committing to it. Also, the plugins are a godsend, it makes life so much easier when dealing with special features.

Pros

It is my go to place to find answers above and even beyond my supervisor. Truth is, this is how I am such a good employee with a strong sense of worth.
I love that I can have people share and edit documents remotely and easily. It’s helpful to track where people are working in the document and all have easy access to it wherever we are.
It is used to create a websites with easy way and also have some amazing features. Its a best microsoft tool to build sites with predefined tools and features.

Cons

Cons: if you change you ip on a linux server it is a pain in the ass to get running again. But in the end i got it.
Pricey plugins, I also hate that the plugins aren't regulated meaning that a plugin can stop updating and I'm forced to either find a new one or brace myself of being hacked.
WordPress sites are vulnerable to hacking, attacks and spamming and often you only learn this once you've been attacked. More should be done for security.

Cons

They can be useful when they work and painful when they break. Some workflows worked without a problem throughout their lifetime and some broke frequently with hard-to-debug error messages.
The big downside is when you have a small IT team that has to shoulder the burden of training users and maintaining SharePoint sites. This overhead alone leaves little time for anything else.
The only problem I can think of, is the lack of knowledge of users who might hinder the documents or create duplicates. This can then get cumbersome for admins to oversee and rectify.

Wordpress

WordPress- Amazing Web Page Technology

We have deployed WordPress and it works side by side with our SharePoint implementation to provide information and links/support/documents/news to our users. Unlike SharePoint, this can be made to look very professional/attractive and I trained a few of our content creators on how to use it and they have really taken to it and made some amazing pages since we went live.

Pros

There are so many great and fun ways to create a compelling WordPress page, and many of the options are free and those that are paid for tend to be inexpensive. With so many powerful extensions, tools, themes, and ways to create anyone with some creativity and a willingness to learn how to use the user-friendly interface will be pleased with the results.

Cons

The only issue with this, and why I lowered my score a bit, is there isn't any single place to get support from. Many of the themes you purchase will come with support, thankfully, and there is nothing I've run into that can't be found online in terms of answers. But there are a lot of SKUs out there for different flavors of WordPress from Turnkey Linux to an installation on a Windows server. When it works, it's great, but when you need help it can be frustrating.

SharePoint

A Good Internal Communications Interface

Overall, I'm not a super user, but I would say I'm advanced user and it is an essential tool to our day-to-day employee communications efforts.

Pros

We use SharePoint as the foundation for our intranet and it is a very impactful tool. While at times it is not as user-friendly as you'd like, it has robust functionality and is a critical tool for us in communicating to our 19,000 employees.

Cons

It is just more complex than it needs to be. With so many web-based sites going toward ease of use (SquareSpace, WordPress, etc.), SharePoint remains more difficult than it needs to be.

SharePoint

SharePoint modern allows quick and easy intranet development, but boy is it CLUNKY!

I'm happy that my team was able to rapidly build an intranet that has been very valuable to our company, but I really wish SharePoint's modern features would catch up to the flexibility and quality of a platform like WordPress.

Pros

The new SharePoint modern allows you to build a simple intranet rapidly.

Cons

The development team has a LONG way to go before SharePoint modern is where it needs to be. Whenever I train new members of my team on how to manage our intranet, I actually have to work in training on all of the random, eccentricities of SharePoint that they may run into. It's not full responsive, you can't resize image widgets, you'll run into publishing errors, two people can't edit simultaneously. I could go on and on.

SharePoint

Not as simple to used as alternatives but very good for internal sites

I needed to create an internal site and this was the program provided to me, my experience has previously been with wordpress and other easy to use interfaces. So when i came across SharePoint I was a little disappointed with it. It took a little getting used to and after a few hours of youtube videos and some resources from microsoft themselves I got the hang of it. In short if you want to do the job this is a good software, if you want a pretty looking site with ease of use expect to put some work into getting it like that or use an alternative.

Pros

For creating internal sites with associated workflows and forms this is best way to go about it

Cons

It can be a little complex for non IT Savvy people so be prepared to do some training and expect setbacks when trying to work with this program
