Pros

Overall, I am very happy with WordPress and highly recommend it to everyone who wants to have a bang for their buck. It's fully functional and a very powerful CMS app.
The plugin marketplace is great, you can always find a great and suitable theme for your website needs. WP is famous enough to have integrations with almost every service and company out there.
I love being able to preview any and all changes before committing to it. Also, the plugins are a godsend, it makes life so much easier when dealing with special features.

Pros

Since I first Submittable after being recommended to use it by a writer colleague, I have loved it and recommended it to others.
It's not a perfect platform and we've had to work around it. The team is very responsive, however, and seems open to improving their product.
It is intuitive to both readers/reviewers and applicants. We were able to learn how to manage the application and review process in a few calls to the fabulous Gold Level Support folks.

Cons

Cons: if you change you ip on a linux server it is a pain in the ass to get running again. But in the end i got it.
Pricey plugins, I also hate that the plugins aren't regulated meaning that a plugin can stop updating and I'm forced to either find a new one or brace myself of being hacked.
WordPress sites are vulnerable to hacking, attacks and spamming and often you only learn this once you've been attacked. More should be done for security.

Cons

The only glitch I've had was when the "status" column was not working, but after contacting your service representatives, the problem was fixed within 24 hours.
I feel a little "blind" when sending out ACCEPT/DECLINE. Not sure what the solution is, however, and really does not present any real trouble for me.
But these are more feature ideas, nothing that I'd consider negative about the existing product.

Wordpress isn't just for blogs

Reviewed 2 years ago
Pros

Functionality. You can build your own base code or take a theme and then edit it to your heart's content. Not to mention the marketplace where you can find a whole host of plugins and add ons. Of course do your due diligence to ensure that you're not installing unwanted software or granting permissions to a third party.

Cons

Open platform for anyone to submit items for plugins and add ons. Risk of unwanted threats.

Not Microsoft Word

Reviewed 10 months ago

Our company uses WordPress to upload blog posts. Formatting and submitting finalized drafts for review is not as easy as it should be

Pros

Simple layout with minimal functions making it easy to use. Most options can be found on the main title page without going into any sub menus.

Cons

Not many options as compared to other similar software. Formatting and editing drafts is very basic and limited.

Wordpress

Pros

Modified Wordpress works great for the online news reporting process. Journalists can submit articles, submissions can be picked up by editors, then published when ready.

Cons

Being able to preset the "open in new window" option for all hyperlinks would be great! Setting them individually is a pain.

The Pressed Word

It was a great experience and I now have an entire team working on it.

Pros

Wordpress is the idyllic solution to create a blog in order to engage new and existing customers. It was the go to solution for our team

Cons

A lot of formatting of the word content on the site. We were able to submit stock images as well as fresh creative to enhance our story.
