It's working with the data from every deparment and simple excel tables turn into visualized subject where we can tell a story from them.
Especially the more and more ways to visualize data provides us a lot of hindsight to incur different angles.
It's not native to any data platform which is both a blessing and curse, the way Adobe Analytics with AEM is great or Google Analytics with Google Data Studio provides seamless experience however I couldn't say the same thing for Tableau.

I love using Tableau every day for my client analytics needs and recommend it highly to any organization serious about analytics.
I use Tableau every day. It is easy to learn with great tutorials and online resources. It is powerful to extend with lots of plugins. And it produces brilliant charts for clients.
Tableau is great for desktop use, but I'm not a big fan of Tableau's online integration. I've been using Google Data Studio for quick and dirty online collaborations.

The best interface, easy of use, powerful, many connectors, data to the people is on of his slogans and its true, they try to make easy of use for any kind of user
The way of license, now they have 3 types of licenses, but still limiting the posibilities to use and consume. Pay attention, in gartner Power BI comes with big steps and nearly Google Data Studio, GDS its so easy and free.

Tableau is a data visualization software that translates raw data into valuable and meaningful insights. It assists businesses in collecting and interpreting data from various sources such as spreadsheets, cloud apps like Google Analytics and Salesforce.
What I love about this is that I can build interactive dashboards through individual reports/worksheets. This platform can really handle large amount of data and complex statistical analysis with ease and gives cohesive results.
I didn’t quite like that there are some limitations to email alert. For example, you can only drag the date range option instead of selecting dates. It’s time consuming. It also takes a while to import data.

I love the data Tableau collects. However, I like to export it to a Google Sheet as soon as possible because it's hard to manipulate the data within Tableau.
Tableau is vital to my work day to day -- with a software that has millions of users (thousands of new users each day), Tableau helps me visualize and manage them in a reasonable way.
Tableau can be a little glitchy at times. Functions like "sort" or "alphabetize" often just don't work for me.

We needed someplace that our Data analytics team could build out reports for different marketing teams and could pull data in form numerous sources.
You can see beautifully designed reports for huge amounts of data located in different places, be it Salesforce, Google Analytics, Google or Bing Ads. You name it.
Because it is so robust. There are a lot of functionalities that I'm sure I don't know about it. It's best to have someone walk you through it to help teach you the basics.

It allows me to create visualizations that anyone in the organization can access and manipulate. Gets staff more involved in using data. Has many features to see your data in different ways.
The connections to outside data often have issues. We use google sheets mostly so it may be a problem with that connection

I started with this product as a curiosity and later in an academic setup. From then on, I have used this for my internship and at my work. This provides amazing insights to the higher level managers and as well as customers. Things can be tracked with the help of visualization without being boring.
How easily it can retrieve the data from worksheets and sql server is really amazing. Once done it is easy to publish or put this into production. I like the capabilities it has to offer on how to visualize data with simple chart techniques. Also hover over option helps to provide more details for a data point either by calculated field or with an picture.
Fewer time it becomes difficult to process larger amount of data and it does not offer support to google big query. So manual extraction or an intermediate source has to be used.

Tableau is a powerful tool for data analysis, it unifies data from different sources for a better view of the information and thus being able to make decisions that best suit the projects, it works very well with other platforms such as Salesforce.
I like Tableau for its user interface, it's easy to use. You can quickly visualize large amounts of data and connect to a variety of data sources, including Excel, text, and Google Drive files. One thing I'd like to point out is that data visualization is simple: simply drag and drop dimensions and metrics onto different templates to see your data come to life in colorful and impressive charts of all shapes and sizes. Dashboard visualizations look well organized.
what I don't like is that the license is somewhat expensive for the work it does.

The best part about Tableau is how easy it is to connect to different data sources - Google Analytics, Amazon Redshift, Adwords. Users find it easy to navigate dashboards and make decisions based on work created in Tableau.
Some features are not very straightforward (for instance, working with dates can take time to get used to because of the way they're set up).

It has been a value-addition to projects specifically because of the convenience of visualizaing data, something that was traditionally done on Excel!
The best thing about this software is it's ability to deliver beautiful data visualizations. Another thing that I really like, is the simplicity of the Use Cases or rather the speed at which you can pick up learning Tableau!
Some of the Data Connectors and Data Sources can most certinly be imporved! PowerBI has fast outpaced Tableau for available Data Sources !

We create dashboards for different audiences and different formats.
Tableau is a good tool to create dashboards and reports in quick time and user-friendly way. The visualizations are smart and understadable. It allows you to divide your data into Metrics, Parameters and Dimensions. The 'Show Me' option will suggest you which visualization create taking into account the variables type that you would like to use. Connecting to data sources like Redshift or Google Sheet is very easy. You can also join data coming from different data sources. Publishing to Tableau Server is a smooth experience and is available from the Tableau Desktop menu.
Tableau Desktop is not the tool if you need to manipulate or transform your data previously. There's a separate tool to do this, it's called Tableau Prep. I'm switching from another tool that had this feature integrated and I missed it so much at the beginning because it completely changes the way you work. It takes time to perfectly fit all visualizations into a dashboard so it looks nice. You always need to use blank squares to make all fit well.

Overall, Tableau has an enormous advantage which is the fact that it collects data from many databases. Also, it has a fantastic user interface. I highly recommend it to use it if you have your data dispersed in many databases.
It is one of the most useful platforms to collect data from any database such as SQL database, google analytics, and so on. Additionally, it allows us to interact with plenty of graphics in order to customize a dashboard.
The support of the platform is worthless. I had to watch some tutorials on youtube to solve the problems on the platform.

Tableau is a great software for those who deal with data analysis/visualization. The software is consistently being updated and is very easy to update with each new update. The types of data sources that can be used include a wide range from excel spreadsheets, google drive, SQL, etc. The software enables you to create a wide range of visualizations and calculations.
As someone who did not originally deal with datasources or data visualization, I found the software to be slightly complex to learn, not very intuitive. Took me a while to get used to the software and I still constantly refer to tableau documentation but the software is very complete and great way to prepare and share information with others in the company.

Data Analysis, data exploration and management, professional plots, dashboards, reports
Tableau is one of those tools that you probably know or have heard about it if you are into the world of Data Science, Data Analytics, or Business Intelligence. If you haven't learned it yet, I really recommend it. This platform allows you to analyze your datasets, explore them, and manage them easily. It also aids you in keeping track of the flow of the data, since the phase of data preparation to publishing your findings and insights. The desktop version is possibly the best, but there's also the choice of the online version.
I would like to have a cheaper version, maybe lighter or with less functionality, but more accessible to the data professionals who can't afford the actual prices or cannot gather a group.

I learned Tableau as a data analytics student, used it as a data professional and taught it as a data analytics teaching assistant, it's always my preferred choice as a data visualisation software.
I like focus on clean design as an output of data analysis. Other programs function similarly but it's the look of the visualisations that make Tableau stand out. When teaching others how to use this programme, they catch on quickly and are delighted by the output.
Being able to share and use your visualisations outside of the software is where the program is limiting. It's very contained to this programme, as most softwares like this are but it would be good to provide more ability to share the visualisations with a wider public.

Significant improvements to data visualizations, better understanding of data, more intuitive presentations.
Powerfully integrated with maps - allows for extremely informative visuals of location based data across the world.
Steep intermediate learning curve - can show basic visualizations right away, but to do more significant transformations requires a fair bit more time investment.

Overall experience with tableau is great. If time is a main concern in your project then tableau will be best option to carry out fast data analytics .
I have used tableau for preparing charts to carry out analytics on large amount of data which would have been a difficult and time consuming task with any other software .All thanks to tableau easy to understand user interface and great documentation.Tableau is rich in features and provides lots of data analytics tools that we don't need multiple software for analytics work. The charts prepared in tableau such as bar plots, histogram, pie charts etc are very concise, neat, and accurate to data .
Trial version should have been more .Tableau don't have much options for cleaning out the data as data cleaning is a very important step in data analytics

Great free data visualization tool. Fantastic for automating all advertising reports.
You can integrate it with most advertising platforms (e.g. Google Ads, LinkedIn Ads, Facebook, etc) and create dashboards which update automatically.
Sometimes the bar charts do not scale correctly. Integrations are free with other Google products however you need to buy third party data connectors to integrate with other advertising platforms. Not as advanced as Tableau.

Overall I am satisfied with the tool and I have used it several times in the past to create simple and effective dashboards.
I think that Google Data Studio is severely underused as a free tool for Google Workspace subscribers. Anytime I hear about someone paying for the expensive Tableau access I tell them to check out this program instead. Very comparable tool at little to no price.
Some features are difficult to understand how to use, but resources (free online classes) are available to teach yourself how to solve the issue. I just wish they would put more time into thinking of how to make the feature intuitive in the first place so that courses are not needed.

It is a good tool without much hassle or any installation required. Directly runs in cloud and gets your work done straight away! We use for some monthly dashboards and the usual one or two visualization requirements. Would certainly recommend for it's value for money benefit.
One of the most productive feature is the ability to link with Google sheets and its integration with the Google platform/products. The collaboration features of G-suite are also evident in Data studio. It is simple at the moment, but gets the work done for quick and small-medium projects.
The Geo-mapping is not great as compared to a tool like Tableau. The Data visualization is not completely customizable which leaves something to desire. You need a google account to work on it, so not for everyone.

Google Data Studio is a fine lightweight product but I do not think it is a top-tier analytics tool. It is probably fine if you are working with small to medium size datasets and you are primarily concerned with data visualization.
Data Studio is a great choice if you are already on a Google stack. It is (or can be) virtually free and it offers plenty of flexibility for light analytics or old-fashioned data profiling. I have used it with some success for enterprise-grade analytics, but it is easy to run up against data limitations. It's generally very quick (especially with BI Engine) and it works well with other Google tools (such as GA).
The product feels a bit cheap compared to its competitors. I found it difficult to manage assets across multiple teams. We ran into multiple issues with ownership (granted, our own fault) that we wouldn't have encountered with, e.g., Power BI or Tableau.

Overall it's made it much easier to build robust, flexible marketing dashboards and then share them with my team. It's also helped to extract data from Ad platforms at a level of granularity that wasn't available within the ad platform itself.
I love how easy it is to put the data points into different graphs and visualizations. The UI is typical of Google. Super intuitive and user-friendly and most aspects of the product behave exactly as a user would expect (which isn't the case in my experience for softwares like Tableau). Ease of use is by far what makes Google Data Studio stand out among the crowd.
Can be hard to integrate data with certain platforms if they aren't Google owned platforms. There's also minor functionality gaps around not having all of the relevant google ads dimensions and labels accessible within data studio.

Google Data Studio is great for what I use it for. I would not use it - nor recommend it - for large-scale data projects or projects that require large amounts of data processing. But, for basic dashboards and presentations, it works great.
Google Data Studio is an excellent (and free!) alternative to software like Power BI or Tableau when the datasets you are using are smaller in size and the analysis needed is more presentation-based than behind the scenes number crunching. It's a fast way to put together a visually appealing dashboard without a lot of the 'frills' of the bigger players like Power BI.
CSV import is limited to 100mb, which has been an issue in some of the datasets I have used (also why I noted Data Studio is for smaller datasets). This is a nit-picky one, but there is no word cloud functionality, which I really wish they would add.
