It's an alternative of Amazon s3 with few differences. In s3 you create buckets and then put files, in Google cloud storage it's all object and create storage.api like url , which you can access later from your applications and other purposes like file read and access. It is also very cheap as s3 , but you are getting security enhancements in Google cloud.
User interface is not as easy as s3 , thats a difference.

Cheap archiving of enterprise data; data lake on top of which elements of our data warehouse are constructed.
Ease of use; great price; highly effective when used in conjunction with BigQuery (as "data lake").
My only complaint is that similar products (e.g., S3) are more available as a storage destination.

1) cost effective easy way to store data in cloud, and Google provide very reliable storage, it mae your data secured and persistent. It has lots of disaster recovery methods. 2) Its pricing is one of the good thing it bill you as per usage. 3) Always have access ability and they had various pricing plans for hot and cold data just like Amazon S3 storage Glacier and standard, IA.
synchronization needs 3rd party tools unlike Google drive.

I would rate is 9/10, because of many features and very easy to use and learn.
Yes, I have used aws s3 storage and Azure storage as well, and I did a price comparison , for smaller data sets you won't see the difference , but when data size grows the price for access and store is cheapest in Google cloud, but others have their own advantages as well.
No, its just the storage system, I am yet to find a least like thing about google cloud storage. It has good documentations to explain things in details.

We use Google Cloud Storage when we have very large files that we need to make available to international clients. I helped set the system up, and after evaluating other systems, I went with Google Cloud Storage as it required no extra software in order to upload files to the storage bucket. We can use the administration control panel to upload the files. We've found it to be reliable, and the download speeds are fast. The costs are quite high, but as we don't make frequent use of it, then it is acceptable.
I like that we can upload very large files to our Google Cloud Storage bucket, and we can upload them using the web site console without any extra software, whereas Amazon storage required software installed.
It is expensive as it costs money to keep files stored, and also costs money every time a client downloads a large file. We don't use it very often, so it is OK to pay this price, but I imagine for a very large company, the costs could quickly spiral out of control.

sharing and accessing documents and files is easier and in a secure manor.
super easy to learn how to use this storage system. Is similar to AWS S3, but command util to manage the file system is much more simpler. one of the features is resumable uploads, which is super helpful for large uploads. Also the pay as you go payment system is great, since you don't over pay but pay by your current use.
Sometime the uploads slows down. API library should be extended to allow more functionality to allow for more scalable options when mass uploading data.

I find Cloud Storage a very comprehensive and complete solution for anyone who would like to capitalize on cloud servers for their web applications. Monitoring is a breeze too given all the tools and advanced functions of their operation monitoring features.
I was just looking for a cloud service that I can try. I have tried Amazon S3 and their cloud solution, but for some reason, I find Google Cloud Storage a lot more flexible for a layman like me. Maybe because I have been using Google, so the interface is pretty much like the usual Google, very minimalistic. This is a serious consideration especially for those dealing with Saas and Paas as the collaboration,...
It will ask for your credit card before it allows you to have the trial. Nevertheless, they assured me that I won't get charged after my trial period unless I upgrade. So far so good.

I have been using Google Cloud Storage for years to safely store my personal files as a way to backup my computers and cellphones.
I have used Google to store and back up files on my laptop, netbook, and phone for years, and I have found it incredibly reliable and convenient as compared with other online cloud storage options. (i.e. OneDrive, Amazon, Samsung, etc.) It was very easy to upload all of my personal files, including word documents, pdfs, txts, and photos. Google even automatically generated appropriate folders and sorted the files accordingly. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who may work remotely and wants to have access to all of their files from anywhere or is looking for an alternative to storing files on a flash drive or external hard drive.
Sometimes files aren't always automatically backed up, so I may have to manually do it myself, or perhaps this is my own fault for not designating it to do so or not ensuring that the proper setting was made on my device. Other than that, there really aren't any issues, pretty smooth sailing.

After multiple tests and after experiencing the horrible signup process we decided to look elsewhere for our cloud storage/assset management need.
This is a top solution to manage large and small amounts of assets if you are a big company or enterprise, but not that favorable to small of medium ones.
But still, it doesn’t change the fact that Amazon S3 is not that easy to get started as compared to Google Cloud Storage. The cumbersome and clunky interface really keeps away from the avast amount of resources and features. And there is no Free Tier. 1+ for Google Cloud Storage

Best cloud object storage offering out there.
S3 is the best thing I've used for object storage in my career. I love the ease and elasticity of S3.
There really isn't anything that I can say to complain about S3. It has always been more than preferment whenever I have had to use it.

Fast durable and secure cloud storage from amazon.
As name this service is simple storage service from amazon. In this service amazon provide various tools where we can store many objective things like software, video, images, etc., with direct and secure link format.
Required cloud knowledge little bit. The cost of more Storage is quite unfavorable for small business.

It is a great application for cloud storage. It's reliable, secure and fast which are the main features you look for in a cloud storage software.
It has a relative simple setup when compared to other similar software . Ideal for businesses who need secure and reliable storage space for data of any kind (texts, videos, images).
Interface design isn't great. It can be hard to find some tools or features. It's not that easy to learn to use, so the learning curve is steep.

Overall the best and cheap cloud storage which is secured.
Amazon cloud storage has flexible storage options and it is reasonably priced. It has excellent security and reliable to business users. The web interface is easy to use and it is highly configurable.
The storage is cheaper but there are no applications to make use for users and have to rely on third party applications for desktop functionality. Though UI is good, sometimes in-built file handling is clunky to use.

It is a very good cloud storage for your files.
You can store lots of your data and your data will not be sold or give out to the public.
The only down side in my opinion is that you can get 12 month free but then you have to pay monthly after that.

Quite content and heavily satisfied with the best cloud storage product.
1. Reliable and secure storage of data blobs 2. Cost is very reasonable 3. Supports auto scaling for running of applications optimizing cost and performance. 4. Swift and efficient data retrieval from storage
1. Billing is not so easy and can sometimes forget to switch off VMs and can pay up extra 2. Would be good to not charge for no usage time of VMs

I wanted to give Amazon S3 a trial run just to see, but was immediately unimpressed.
Cloud storage is pretty simple and hard to do wrong, so in that line of thought they got it right as a basic cloud storage platform.
Amazon is a terrible company, and I do everything I can do avoid it, which is why I cannot recommend this service. There are so many other perfectly fine cloud storage platforms out there. I mean, Google gives you 15 gigs for free, plus it has docs, gmail, all that stuff integrated, so why go with Amazon?

We have lots of AWS Cloud solutions developed on AWS for in house teams & for our customers as well, S3 is best fit in AWS for anything when it comes to store any files or program scripts or AWS templates.
As it's name - Simple Storage Service given by the AWS, easily accessible , secured cloud storage service.
Some time lags in performance criteria, need to provide security manually.

AS3 is worth giving a once overview and using as your in the cloud storage.
For what we do Amazon S3 has made storing content, sharing large video files and streaming videos. We haven't even tapped into all of the applications found on Amazon S3.
Haven't tapped into all the applications offered on Amazon S3 to have any cons at the moment. It would nice for an auto restore for file accidental deletes. AS3 isn't for the lighthearted.

Great tool for object cloud storage, with a shallow learning curve and great price range.
Amazon S3 is a great cloud object storage, has a shallow learning curve and it's easy to get started.
While it's easy to learn, it's still a different paradigm compared to regular storage, which may be a little daunting at first.

Once I got the gist of it, I couldnt imagine using any other cloud storage service.
First heard of this during my induction at work and I loved it. I loved the logging functionality. Also the ability to extend your storage by however much you need
I still maintain that the hardest thing about using aws is the naming conventions. The assumption that eveery newbie will understand what you mean by 'bucket', or 'container'. Also, the naming conventions are HORRIBLE.

I would recommend and use S3 over any other similar storage options provided by other cloud providers.
* S3 storage is scalable, available storage service. To top it all, amazon promises and delivers a really good data durability with 99.999999999. * It is very easy to deploy the storage from AWS console. If you are someone who regularly works with AWS then, it kind of becomes easy to use them through CLI as well. * The documentation provided by AWS is one of the best documentation of any services I have seen through out my career. The documents are very detailed and it helps beginners.
I actually have very less complains when it comes to AWS.
