There are some features that are missing such an easier way to track cash flow or any note tracking

Job Billing, it is extremely difficult to keep track and accurately our monthly billings.

The biggest con is all new features seem to be put with add-on products and the customer support is awful.

Without a doubt, the worst thing about this software is the customer service.

Limited and confusing reporting

Crystal reports are not ideal, no easy flexibility with report editing, bare minimum financial reports included, clunky processes to post transactions to GL and antiquated feeling user interface.   And it's a small thing, but there are several fields that are way too short.  

The reports are not very customizable and the reports available are limited and does not have the information I need in a report.

Comprehensive data handling

Users think the software captures extensive data efficiently and allows for flexible import and export options. Reviewers indicate that the system supports robust reporting and trend analysis, helping departments collaborate and make informed decisions. Some users say the ability to correct and manipulate data is valuable for their workflow.

Remote and flexible access

Our employees can access the system from any internet connection which has saved us during hurricanes, covid  and such.  

83% of reviewers feel positive about Cloud Access, noting it enables employees to access the system from any location and device, including mobile phones and browsers. Some users report this flexibility is vital during emergencies or remote work scenarios. Reviewers indicate cloud hosting saves server space and enhances communication across teams. Extensive functional capabilities

We are still implementing it but it seems to have all the features we need to operate more efficiently and to move off of some of our spreadsheets.

The Job Module is very robust and easy to use with lots of feature to help manage projects effectively.

I like that it is easily set up for us to be able to navigate where we need to go in a simple format.

What I like most about Spectrum is the consistency across the system.   Whether working in A/R, A/P, Payroll or Inventory the system is consistent and accessing the data is easily understandable.

I also handled lots of payables during my time using Spectrum, and I feel overall accounting wise it is very beneficial and makes invoicing easy and it's easy to see what we need to research in open payables.

Support has not been very helpful with this issue, basically stating that reports downloaded from the software have to be saved as 'flattened' images and then re-uploaded to Spectrum, which doesn't always correct the issue.  

For example, most software does not separate jobs and work orders or at least to the extent of Spectrum and it keeps things so much more organized and efficient.

However, recently the images have degraded substantially, to the point that some are unreadable, even when exported out of the software.  

Payroll Manager

I am not a fan of the tax override screen, it can be a bit confusing it caused me to withhold only the extra amount because I entered it incorrectly.

Project Coordinator

Aesthetically, Spectrum is stuck in the 90s and sometimes I feel the very basic look can make it a bit hard to navigate because it doesn't use colors, fonts, or any sort of 'design' to draw your attention to important places/buttons.

Another thing I don't particularly like is how expensive Spectrum is especially to add additional modules. When adding additional modules there isn't much help as far as set up as well.

Fractional Controller

Overall I like Spectrums ability to integrate with other software and ability to import or export data with the use of SDX  and API.

Regional Controller

We have a complicated organization of companies, and Viewpoint Spectrum allows applicable users to access various companies with ease.

Reporting has always been lacking in many areas, especially payroll and accounts payable.  

MIS Manager

It does cause users to stumble when adopting Spectrum as a new ERP.

I appreciate the year end processing webinars, they are a great refresher for those once a year procedures.

We can run job cost or profitability reports quickly so we know how our projects are going.  

I also feel that this program could reach its potential if the Spectrum team would listen to their users and take their feedback.

Customer service is a shot in the dark, to put it mildly and many reps on many occasions indicated to fix a particular issue, a one sided entry would be needed.  

It is especially good for specialty contractors where tracking and managing productivity is critical.  

It's adequate for basic job cost accounting.  

I love the speed and the access that Spectrum offers.  

I have used Viewpoint Spectrum for over 30 years, and it helped grow many businesses over the years in all facets of the industry.

Spectrum has grown in its ability to be integrated with other software to increase its functionality.

You can customize everything from colors and fonts to layout and spacing, ensuring that your content looks exactly the way you want it to.

Account Payable Specialist

Not able to delete invoices during the routing approval process, not being able to send emails after the switch to the cloud, and not being able to change receiving quantities, phases and cost centers as a higher user (administrator).

However, I do recognize challenges of our end users.

I keep accepting promo calls from our cable provider thinking it may be Viewpoint calling.

The training is a joke - we spent 4 hours a week at $250/hr listening to the trainer read from a script telling us to check boxes for setup that could've been set up for us before we started as it wasn't even setup specific to our company, it was the general setup and we were told we would customize it for our company during a later training.

There is no flat rate pricing availabililty in Spectrum for use on residential side of company so we have to use two programs and manually input data in Spectrum for the accounting aspect.
