EViews overview
What is EViews?
EViews is an on-premise state-of-the-art program designed to help corporations, academic researchers, government agencies, and students access forecasting, statistical, and modeling tools from within a unified interface. It lets teams directly connect to multiple data sources, such as relational databases, third-party providers, and more to improve modeling accuracy using the most recent data.
Key features of EViews include cross-tabulation, autocorrelation, principal components, analytic derivatives, LASSO variable selection, nonlinear models, and stability tests. The platform enables managers to gain access to a variety of ODBC compliance databases, such as Microsoft SQL, Oracle, IBM DB2, Server, or Sybase. The open programming interface, EDX API, allows staff members to build their own data browsers for data using any public or proprietary data source.
EViews's EDO library lets users pull the finished results from workfiles or write applications to regularly update their database from an external data source. It also provides OLE support for linking EViews output to other packages, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.
