This program was missing live updates. If I made a mistake I had to delete the assignment from each class then reassign.

Physical Science Teacher

We were asked to use Kiddom this year for our distance learners and once we figured out the ease of the software, we really enjoy it. After we understood that it was folders within folder within folders, we were able to organize our material into chapters, then section within the chapters and then assignments within the sections in the chapters.

Kiddom allows you to post assignments, tests, write important announcement’s that will send directly to a students phone if they have their notifications on (I was told by a distance learner, this was there favorite thing about kiddom).

English Teacher

Therefore, I have to manually adjust so many features on every single activity. If I could just adjust the settings so that each assignment started the way I wanted (summative, with 10 point questions, NOT labeled participation, etc) that would save me several obnoxious clicks.

The least thing I like about Kiddom is accessing students who submit work through the notification button, and how it doesn’t have a gradebook or anywhere that says if a student hasn’t turned in an assignment.

Imagine your students having a notebook where new assignments appeared, and where all of their notes, completed work, grades, and feedback were retained safely, ready to be recalled whenever needed.  

Having to constantly maneuver the Timeline to grade/check late work is a HUGE hassle.

The only thing I find an inconvenience is that previous assignments are not chunked together as date clusters like the week they were assigned.   If I want to copy an assignment or need to pull it up to edit, I have to scan down the assignments on the right slide button.

Creating an activity that asks students to record themselves, they are unable to see/read the prompt as they make the recording because the recording function blocks view of the window.

At my school, we created "PLC classes" so that we could collaborate and share documents and assignments we had made with our grade level instead of each person doing that individually.

I wish I was able to make a group of these students to select the "group" when assigning instead of unselecting all and then going through to add each DL student I have every time for every assignment.

The best part of this software is that I can upload my curriculum once and assign it or re-assign it as needed to students.

The emphasis on testing and grading within the system are not very useful when it does not integrate with grade management outside of the kiddom platform.

I like their ideas and goals for standards based tracking and differentiation but the execution often comes with many glitches and overall annoying to use and confusing for students at times.

Once that feature was added, I was able to group and teach both distance learning and in-person learning successfully, though things such as discussion boards still don't exist.

What I do not like about Kiddom is that if you make a chart as an answer choice, you have to make it in the answer in order for students to write their answers in.  

inability to organize lessons/activities after they are created (rearrange a lesson as you are working on it, i.e. re-order questions, insert a question that you forgot...)

It has great features such as the grade book and the software being able to grade multiple choice for teachers.

One of the main reasons my school district chose Kiddom was because the EL Curriculum is attached and the idea was that we would be able to assign workbook pages to students digitally.

Students have consistently been able to access the software through many of their devices, however, Kiddom has not provided a consistent platform for work submission from students.

To find lessons, user has to scroll all the way down to units and then lessons instead of having a search window to find lessons right away.

Kiddom is a far more complicated alternative for distance learning resources.   Though it does the job of connecting students to each other and the teacher, there are more effective resources for e-learning.

As a high school teacher, I use Kiddom by creating lessons daily. When assigning the lessons to a class timeline, students receive an email.

Navigating between different assignments is not really possible for many of our kids and navigating within an assignment is fairly awkward as the questions can stretch or shrink if you click on them.

What I like the most is that the Open up resources are directly assigned to the students and sometimes apps like Geogebra are inserted to help students learn.  

2nd Grade Teacher

Four months in to the school year, I can now create the daily activities for my distance learners and grade them all in one place.

Being able to assign work to individual students or the entire class is very useful as we have virtual learners doing differentiated assignments.

I don't like that sometimes when students change device the system does not allow them to enter until they remove cookies in their devices.

I like that on Kiddom I am able to make my assignments under the curriculum in advance, and then not assign them until the day I need them.  

My school bought Kiddom to use for its partnership with EL (a Lit curriculum). Although we do use Kiddom successfully for Lit, the EL resources are difficult to navigate.

It’s certainly a start for a blended learning package but it needs to work out some kinks in order to be on par with its collegial rivals such as D2L or blackboard.

I also like that I can just link other lessons or activities (Forms, videos, etc.)  into the lessons.

Reports are not helpful. If I want only the Unit Test to show me the standards’ aligned with student proficiency, I can’t.

I would like an option to print out student work along with my feedback on the same document for hybrid learners

Microsoft Teams lets you create one assignment then choose which classes you'd like to assign it to.  

There isn't a drag an drop feature so I can duplicate assignments or reorder them.

I truly appreciate Kiddom and the staff for all they have done to keep us engaged with our students during this crazy time and also keeping Kiddom updated so that we can continue to do so.

Checking the completed assignments and grading requires a lot of clicks and back and forth between pages.

5th Grade Teacher

I love the new added feature where students can type a comment to me in the assignment.

I like that there is a message board to communicate with students individually and create posts for them to all see.

If I had a choice about using Kiddom or using the workbooks and creating my own assignments, I would create my own.

I like that as my students are working on an assignment, I can see them working in real-time to give feedback/message with them.

I like that I simply drag the assignments onto the students` timelines and they can do them asynchronously.

High School Teacher

It is so tedious to assign lessons to classes.   If multiple classes need the same assignment it should be easier to assign to multiple classes.  

The program does provide a simple access through Clever and is a decent communication tool for what is happening per week.

Less critical for my needs, built in curriculum is mostly links to demos of other software and is generally useless.

Students could mark complete even if they did not submit any work, therefore their parents thought they were all caught up.  

I'm afraid for our distance learners, they think all they have to do is click submit and their assignment is completed, when it is not.
