SoniClear Gov Recorder is a Windows-based software for recording government meetings. It can be used like a hardware recorder but with more features to make the production of meeting minutes. Take notes during meetings to highlight important points that will need to be included in the minutes. Then, when playing back the recording, the motion, votes, and discussion points can be reviewed without having to listen to the entire recording.

Notes can be entered by typing and using predefined text "Markers." It is also possible to import the published agenda for the meeting and use the agenda to outline the meeting as each item is brought up. Gov Recorder works with a range of microphone options to reliably capture speaking in any size meeting. For meetings that often involve potential litigation, Gov Recorder can record with up to 12 microphones in separate channels to allow for accurate transcription and speaker identification when there are people talking over each other.

Meeting recordings can be played back using the included SoniClear Transcriber software, allowing multiple clerks or departments to listen to meeting recordings at the same time to write up minutes. Gov Recorder includes archiving features for sharing recordings through a network file folder. Add recordings to the archive to allow anyone in the organization to review meetings from the shared archive folder. For sharing recordings with the public, the Webcast option supports streaming of audio from a website. Make the audio and notes available for public access using any browser (phone, tablet, Windows, or Mac).
