Pros

The software is user friendly so that help's me as an Owner to train new staff on billing. I also love the "unpaid insurance claim" report that helps my employees to work the Account's Receivable's.
With a few tweaks to the system (I'd love to help!), coupled with its extreme ease of use and excellent reliability, Kareo EHR could become a powerhouse in the rapidly growing urgent care market.
The best product I have every used and when I need help the service is excellent.

Pros

Good price reasonably user friendly, adding mips reporting, some ability to customize. Robust support at the beginning.
I would gladly put Practice Fusion up against them all. It is great and it delivers exactly what they promise and they also provide the best customer support that I have seen in the EMR field.
But the thing that I like the most is the ease of use, the improvement in the car in the last 2 years was great. They have been using practice fusion for more than 6 years now.

Cons

This is a truly terrible billing software with poor customer service. I strongly advise talking with your billers before going down this road.
They will leave you on the phone for 25-40 minutes before getting you some body who will brush you off. You have to figure your problems by yourself or suck it up.
Kareo knew about the problem, saw what was happening and could not fix it. It was yet another Kareo glitch due to the badly executed and buggy software.

Cons

Customer service is horrible; they are rude, not helpful at all and you are easily on hold for 40 minutes at a time. You can leave a message, but no one ever calls you back.
Having used the product for past two years, I am annoyed to learn the new user interface, surely I'll adapt.
Lack of electronic devices integration. No ecommerce through PF.

Pros

It is very user friendly. It contains a numerous reports and a plethora of options therein. Integration with Practice Fusion is great - even when there was an issue, Kareo and Practice Fusion worked together to solve it.

Cons

An update within the past few months made it a little harder on the eyes, in my opinion. Not sure if the text got smaller or changed font. I wish there was an option to change font style and size within the app on the individual user side.

Kareo's staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Their EHR is intuitive and the interface is easy to use.

Cons

I have no complaints so far. I switched from Practice Fusion after learning that Practice Fusion sells your raw patient data to pharmaceutical companies. Kareo is upfront and makes money honestly by selling products such as their PM and Billing softwares.

Lost thousands due to their incompetance

You have to enter the payers, their addresses, and all the info for the entire billing infrastructure as well as the particular patient's info. Then, it fails and you need to be watching each particular claim to find out if there was rejections or if the money isn't flowing. Is thousands of dollars lost worth a low price?

Pros

seemlessly integrates with Practice Fusion. There is no up front cost. really the positives are hard to write

Cons

Didn't send claims to medical assistance then when finally getting through to them they said : 1) it was my 99213 code ; then 2) medicare did it and 3) everyone else but them

I wish PatientPop automatically ported appointments over to practice fusion and vice versa blocking out appointment slots on both sides.

Cons

I have found the payment posting to be a challenge with some accounts when they are going to secondary insurance companies, need more training on this area.

I had to cancel due to inability of Kareo to integrate with Practice Fusion. Despite advertising they could, they were unable to do so after multiple hours with technical support and two months trying. It was - Practice Fusion saying it was Kareo, Kareo saying it was Practice Fusion. I was very surprised having seen Kareo's reviews. When I asked for a refund, I received a firm, "no" and the reply below. I didn't read their extensive contract, which in fact states, if they can't get it to work, it is not their responsibility. I switched companies and was up an running in two weeks. From Kareo, "Please keep in mind that Kareo subscription fees are not contingent on your ability to successfully integrate with your third party EHR"

They know how to market and talk up their software.

Cons

Seems like others are satisfied. I am not. I have never purchased a software that had no guarantee so it was a shock when they told me that they would not refund my two month subscription after they failed to connect to my practice fusion account. I reminded them of all their advertising that they could get it done. They said, read my contract, they make no guarantees. I have to imagine others are having this problem but not coming forward. I was much happier when I switched to a preferred partner of Practice Fusion. I guess that is why they are preferred

Practice Management at it's BEST

Kareo practice management system make life in the office so much easier. From it's integration with our EHR (Practice Fusion), to live claim scrubbing and EDI capabilities and overall ease of use. With over 20 years in this business I have use quite a few systems and Kareo is by far the easiest to set up and use day to day.

Love Kareo Billing

The benefit to this billing software is that it is very functional and we are able to track every claim with ease.

Pros

Our company began using this software for billing almost 2 years ago. It was easy to set up and is very compatible with our EMR, Practice Fusion. I am the biller and I use this software daily. I find this software to be very functional, easy to maneuver and access all information in an efficient manner.

Cons

The integration of the software went very smoothly. There are a couple of things I would like to see this software do. One is to be able to see what "dates" the patient "unapplied amount" balances are from, without having to open up a settled DOS to "Apply Payment" for informational purposes. and two.. to be able to make notes in the "insurance aging" for each claim that is delinquent, so that when we open up the aging we can see if the claim has been worked on and what progress has been made to get claim paid. Other than that, I'm totally in love with this software. :)

People should know that the integration of Kareo with practice fusion is only possible at the highest level of support and it is not backward integration, just going forward in time. It assumes that you accept insurance from all patients. You can't generate a receipt with insurance codes so patients can submit it to...

Unethical practices.

I have been with Kareo since 2011. There have been some growing pains with the EHR. The support used to be outstanding but now it is very poor. Unanswered help tickets. Losing clients in cue for a help tickets or transfers.

Pros

The Practice Management portion is very user friendly.

Cons

They steal your clients by telling them to use Kareo's billing service so that your client can get all the training and support they need for EHR and Meaningful Use. Support lacks training in helping your clients resolve issues. They are most likely to tell you that there is an issue on your side. I think the most horrifying part of this is they will not provider your client's support but are more than welcome to take your client from your business and supposedly provides them with outstanding support. I have had first hand experience with Kareo's in house billing. They are another company that only providers data entry and fails to tell the providers that they need an in house biller anyway.

I became a better biller when I joined Kareo

I thought I was giving my practices the best billing experience there ever was. That was until I saw for myself what Kareo could do for me. As a concierge billing company, we are all about the practices we serve. We were running ourselves ragged. That stopped when we got into the Kareo family. My billers are happier. They can do so much more and without so much running around. End of month is quick and easy. Reports are accurate. Claims are getting paid faster and there are really less denials. That gives my company more time to help our practices grow up!

Great Value especially when a practice is starting off. Simple Practice Management and Great Tutorials for training. My sales Rep. Don Yates is the reason I selected the product.

Cons

Adequate for what we need, great reporting functionality.

Pros

Robust reporting ability which is helpful when analyzing your practice.

Cons

No Mac options, you have to run on Windows.

It's great, this is the second practice I've used kareo with. (Didnt get my 300.00 for referring the current practice though)

Pros

I love the customer service with troubleshooting for billing.

Cons

I wish they would offer more videos for business reports and help with credentialing troubles.
