The overall experience with Ansys SpaceClaim is very good and it helps me to make any small changes very quickly and reiterate the simulation quickly and easily.

SpaceClaim is a boon in such cases where you can open it within your ANSYS Mechanical and modify if any changes are needed and then proceed with further analysis, SpaceClaim is one of the good CAD tools with which we can build robust models from scratch for analysis.

The least that I like is its user interface.

This CAD module is integrated with different Ansys Simulation modules, making it easy to process the geometry for pre-processing steps.

This allows the user to complete the geometry and prepare it for CFD setup directly from the CAD software.

Repairing of model or deleting some surfaces are more easy then in competitive programs.

We have mostly used the student version of Ansys and SpaceClaim failed to import some models which were build in other softwares like CREO or SOILDWORKS, that is the main issue which we faces

This integration also requires less time to edit and reflect the CAD models into simulation modules.

Ansys should allow Students especially using the free version, to experiment more with the software by relaxing certain constrictions on their free version.

I know that complex parts are time consuming due to the meshing which is pretty dense. But a faster database is an requirement for the ansys users.

You need to have basic theoretical knowledge about the fluid dynamics and also the commands to use ANSYS for CFDS.

I have created a gear pump in Spaceclaim and also analyze it in detail with a working animation.

The feature generation and documentation (drilled and/or tapped holes, fasteners, etc.) is mostly an imported functionality set from the old Draftpak suite they imported into CADkey years ago.

We have found that using a non-parametric 3D CAD modeling software in our custom tool & die work is preferable in most instances to using a parametric modeler like Solidworks.

Inputting bend allowances and corner reliefs is simple and allows easy exportation of flat DXF files to use for manufacturing.

There have been a number of times we have received Solidworks or geometry in other parametric formats from our customers, and when they made a minor change to something it screwed up other aspects of the geometry because they didn't have their constraints set correctly.

It allows us to design in 3D and quickly produce prints for fabrication.

I do wish that the KeyCreator development team were more approachable with bug fixes and functionality improvements, and that some of the issues I have reported through the years would actually see improvements rather than being completely disregarded.

I am probably using about 30% of it’s capabilities, but that’s OK because I can get things that I need done, done quickly while only occasionally utilizing many of the available features.

The fact that it's non-parametric removes the worry that by changing one feature I risk screwing up other aspects of my geometry unintentionally.

The online support, examples and tutorials are great, they need to be expanded into the fringes of the software where reside some very powerful tools.

Designing in 3D and being able to see my projects from all aspects is critical to my business.

Like most software these days, the documentation and help system are terrible, and often haven't even been updated to match the current version of the software.

We cannot make continuing section views except from a main view (you cannot section a section view).

The support is excellent when needed and they have a great option to submit customer requested features.
