Pros

The thing I like the most is the ease of use of software and the amount of awesome features that is included with the software.
The pros of this product is that it is extremely great for creating projects, especially when using a MAC. I highly recommend Apple products as it works best for designing.
You are able to make beautiful and stunning illustrations for your social media posts or any posters. You can edit any symbol, picture etc with it.

Pros

I like how easy it is to use and how my pictures come out. I tend to draw for my stories so it helps that I can visualize it in such a clean and colorful format.
But the more you use it, the more you’ll realize how user friendly it is. I was so fascinated with Corel draw I even enrolled for a comprehensive tutorial.
Great software, I have used this for over 10 years, great with a tablet, great features and easy to learn.

Cons

The bummer about Adobe is that you can no longer purchase the software as a one-off. Now it’s a subscription that you have to pay monthly or yearly and the fees are quite hefty.
I think most of the frustration comes with user error and not doing enough research on the current subject.
On rare occasions, the app will stall or close down altogether. This could be a flaw with either the application itself or the system I'm using it on.

Cons

The Trouble Shooting criteria is worst in CorelDraw, and that is after few hours or some uneven period getting known to the problem nothing going to be fix this issue.
After 4 hours and 5 days with customer service, they tell us that it's a known problem and nothing is being done to fix it. This is by far the worst experience you will have with any software company.
The worst part about CorelDRAW is that you have to do a complete research to start understanding the features and how to use it.

Honest Review Adobe Illustrator

Reviewed 5 years ago

It is good for the person who is really passionate about digital art and graphic design it that case Illustrator is the key app, especially if they are in the print and illustration profession. There are good, less expensive, alternatives for enthusiasts and people looking at it as hobby or those with more limited needs. It is the best available software for creating art for print. I often use it for making presentation sketches and converting hand drawn files to vector format.

Pros

The most reliable and Satisfying app when it comes to graphic design and vector illustration of a hand drawn Drawing in existence, besides, perhaps, CorelDRAW. It can handle very complex files much better than CorelDRAW and is more compatible with Photoshop and other Adobe programs. Also, it runs on both Macs and PCs, unlike CorelDRAW, which is PC-only.

Cons

Some times hardware may creates rendering errors, making it unsupportable to many systems. I thought the scripting support could have been better sometimes it isn't even possible to run a script with a hotkey, like in Photoshop. Objects behind gradient objects cannot be deleted or trimmed. The price is quight high for single app, so it may be difficult for students and low income group hobbyist.

My experience with Adobe Illustrator has been overall good. I use it daily.

This software allows me to work faster, work smarter, and most importantly work easier.

Pros

This software never slows down (unlike CorelDraw) no matter what I throw at it. It also includes GPU acceleration to help out with large pixelated workflows.

Cons

I wish that Illustrator had better CAD integration, mainly the ability to import DXF files in order to help out with my digital cutter.

Adobe Illustrator

One of the best.

Reviewed 6 years ago
Pros

Everyone who ever created vector graphics is familiar with Adobe Illustrator. It considered to be one of the best vector editors, with very large varieties of tools and effects. It is mostly user friendly, but requires to learn the basic before you can jump in and start your project. Very well build export for printing and integration with other Adobe products, as Adobe Photoshop and Indesign.

Cons

As a CorelDraw and Freehand user in the past, I think that Adobe Illustrator not as intuitive and very "heavy" on your computer hardware. Also the price is usually very for a unprofessional user.

Adobe Illustrator

Great software but not for beginners

Reviewed 4 years ago

Overall, if you're comfortable with it, nothing beats Illustrator for performance and vector graphics. However, there are much easier to use options available that return nearly the same results (like CorelDraw).

Pros

There is no software better than Illustrator for handling vector graphics. Virtually anything vector, created by any other software can be opened and manipulated with Illustrator.

Cons

Right out of the box, a great deal of the default settings in Illustrator appear to be designed just give you headaches. Of these, the selection tool is absolutely mind boggling. It can be a true test of patience to navigate through clip-masks and grouped selections just to find and tweak a single node or make a color change. There's also a really strange limit to the amount of spot colors that can be used in a single document. This may sound trivial, until you attempt to use several branded logos on a design and nobody will let you convert their colors.

Adobe Illustrator

The best vector graphic designing software out there!

Reviewed 5 years ago

Illustrator is a part of my everyday job as a graphic designer, and I'm learning new techniques every day to get more and more out of it.

Pros

Frankly, I am in awe of Adobe Illustrator CC 2018. I use it to design logos, customizing type, create illustrations and even for layout purposes. The ability to seamlessly transfer back and forth from other Adobe Creative Cloud products such as Photoshop, InDesign and even Bridge makes it very easy to manage work. Illustrator can also be navigated fairly easily. The integration of Adobe Typekit and Spark is also very helpful. But, what I love most about the Illustrator is its ability to create and manage multiple artboards. It helps in creating a lot of iterations for a project very quickly by quickly replicating the artboards.

Cons

For some reason, Illustrator is unable to open .CDR files. Many times I get CorelDraw files for redesigning the graphic, And I have to convert them to .SVG every single time before importing it into Illustrator, which sometimes modifies it. I hope Illustrator starts supporting .CDR files. It will be easier as many printers here in India still only support .CDR files. So more designers around me will start working in Illustrator instead of just using CorelDraw if they can just save the files afterwards to .CDR extension.

The most convenient & dynamic vector-graphics editing software

Reviewed 2 years ago

Good experience so far! It's extremely user friendly & strait forward.

Pros

Illustrator is one of the most dynamic and user-friendly vector graphics editing software available to design and create almost any type of artwork and creatives. It keeps getting more advance with each update. They're fast to introduce new features that help in a corporate designing scenario a lot. It's competitively priced and provides a wonderful user tutorial for educating about the best use of each feature & new command.

Cons

There's nothing that one can not like about Illustrator as it's much faster than its closest competitor - CorelDraw. Yet, there's only one issue they don't provide a perpetual license option which may be a better plan for corporate users like us.

The perfect design tool

Reviewed 6 years ago

I've used Illustrator for the last 4 years and as a designer I could not be happier. I moved from CorelDraw and the learning curve was tough but at the end of it, it's really the only tool you should go for.

Pros

The possibility of bringing anything you imagine, into your design. There's a tool for any specific thing or layout or style that's on your mind. The concept of all artboards being into the same workspace also makes it easier to navigate through multiple pages at a glance, without slowing down the system much.

Cons

The learning curve is quite steep for a new user.

Tried and true illustration software!

Reviewed 5 years ago

Through the years my overall experience has been great! Illustrator has really allowed me to create beautiful vector illustrations for personal use, website design, and all sorts of content both digital, and printed! It's an essential today of today's graphic designer.

Pros

Adobe illustrator is definitely the most robust illustration software I've used, even more so than CorelDRAW. Adobe has really evolved the software over the years especially due to all the integrations available within the CC suite, for example, most recently Adobe XD which allows you to integrate illustrations easily into website designs!

Cons

Well I could that it drains computer memory, but then again, that's expected from such a robust software...

The only design software you'll ever need!

Reviewed 5 years ago

We use Illustrator daily, for designing outdoor billboards and also magazine ads. It is flawless in execution. A little difficult to learn, but worth it at the end of it. Will definitely recommend!

Pros

Everything about the software is just perfect. The artboards based UI makes it easier to browse through multiple pages of design, the linking with Aftereffects makes it a great backend for video graphics. It's great to have it on an iPad too!

Cons

The learning curve is longer than you'd imagine. It'd take one easily a few weeks to actually start realising the potential of the software. Also, the maximum artboard size is actually smaller than a standard billboard size so you often have to design in illustrator and export to another software like Coreldraw to make the actual sized print files.

Requires a whole lot of hours of tutorial videos to become good enough to create anything

Reviewed 3 years ago

My overall experience with Illustrator was very overwhelming, compared to CorelDraw which seemed a bit more user friendly and less confusing as a newbie. But I am still in the process of learning and hope that one day I can be in the position to use each for different kinds of projects

Pros

What I liked most about using Illustrator was the vast wealth of resources and tutorial help online to assist me get going and learn my way around. The learn panel was particular useful for me during first few days. Considering it was my first foray into graphic design and creation, the vast amount of resources I had access to (even though overwhelming sometimes) meant that I shortened my learning curve significantly.

Cons

It can be very overwhelming for a first timer. Some elements in the primary interface can be hidden or collapsed from primary view. Also, some of the features' icons are a bit too similar and confusing. I kept having to refer to the guide for help every step of the way.

Adobe Illustrator

Industry-standard Vectoring Software

Reviewed 4 years ago

For the experienced user, Adobe Illustrator is a seamless experience. Almost everything that you need is readily available. The community a quite large and the online resources are endless. There are other alternatives such as CorelDraw and Inkscape, but the workflow UI resources and support you get with Illustrator just makes is not worth to consider other apps.

Pros

Compatibility is the keyword here. Most (if not all) decent design agencies, boutiques, in-house teams, press/printers and even freelancers use Adobe Creative Cloud. If your team is doing serious design work, you'll never go wrong purchasing Adobe Illustrator (along with the rest of the suite). And now that it is available on a SaaS or subscription-based model, Adobe ensures that you get the most recent updated version of the software as long as you/your team is under one of their plans. This is actually a great thing when you consider that everybody else using the software are also using the same version that you have.

Cons

The subscription-based model is not for everyone. Some companies would prefer to have perpetual license for software purchases. This is os it always have been with the Adobe Creative Suite until CS6. When they moved from perpetual licenses to 'Cloud-based' subscription model a lot of the smaller agencies, boutiques and freelancers suddenly found it hard to have access to legitimate Adobe Creative software such as the Illustrator. A lot of users think that the burden of paying $20+ (single app) to $50+ (for the whole suite) per month is a little bit too expensive.

It is the go to software in the market. There is CorelDraw but it is not the same thing, but Illustrator is ahead in the lead. The latest version is much user friendly than the previous version. It has the ability to easily draw and handle vectors. There are plenty of templates in the internet which can be used for this and easily get started with designing.

Cons

A must have tool in your designer toolbox.

Reviewed 3 years ago

Illustrator lets me create advanced graphics such as SVG graphics for websites and logos for my photographs or videos, all while maintaining an easy workflow within the Adobe Creative Cloud family of products.

Pros

One of the best features that Illustrator offers is its integration with all other Creative Cloud products like Photoshop. It also is very intuitive when compared to other vector drawing tools like CorelDRAW. If you are into diagraming logos or text, then this tool is essential. You can create precise illustrations and export them to all major formats. Because all the graphics you create are vector-based, things like scaling are not an issue. Vector-based graphics can be scaled infinatly without losing resolution or detail.

Cons

Illustrator is a monster of a platform, with a lot of features. What this means for the average person is that there is a considerable learning curve involved in order to use it at its full potential.

Adobe Illustrator

A versatile vector editor

Reviewed 6 years ago

I started using Adobe Illustrator back in 2012 when I graduated from high school. I have use many other alternative tools like CorelDRAW and affinity designer but I kept finding myself coming back to adobe illustrator, the reason being its an intuitive software only once you have crossed the learning curve. Its like once you understand the rules of the universe you know how to do anything. Leraning new tricks is also a breeze and quite logical.

Pros

The ability to manipulate vectors and curves easily with the pen tool. Editing layers and creating gradients is also an amazing feature compared to other competitive tools in the market.

Cons

The biggest drawback is not particularly with the software but with the industry. Why should there be a dedicated tool for vectors and rasters? Why can't a single tool handle the manipulation and processing of both formats? Another drawback is the expensive pricing and subscriptions plans.

Adobe is tops in graphics software - but no other options?

Reviewed 4 years ago

Illustrator has a consistent interface with the rest of the Creative Cloud apps, allowing you to move seamlessly from Photoshop to InDesign to Illustrator without losing a beat. I like the fact that Illustrator allows you to save as an Illustrator PDF file, saving from having to export a separate file from an .AI file. I now keep all my files as PDFs that I can share with clients, open in Acrobat or Adobe Reader, or open in Illustrator to edit.

Pros

I've been using Illustrator since it was released, version '88'. I like the fact that I can use the SAME keyboard shortcuts and most of the same commands in the same way since the original version. The capabilities are solid, being able to create and edit vector files, include raster (image) files, and I like that they finally added multiple pages -- although they bizarrely call "artboards".

Cons

For several versions, the software was very buggy. Adobe tends to rush updates to market without testing them thoroughly sometimes. I also dislike that newer versions require more storage space for the software, more processing power from the computer, and the "upgrades" they make by adding new features so they can continue to charge for updates. Also don't like that there isn't a real viable Mac competitor like Freehand. CorelDraw left the Mac market but has apparently come back, but all my files are in .AI format.

The standard in vector editing, still wish it had more page layout features

Reviewed 6 years ago
Pros

Illustrator is still the undisputed champ when it comes to creating logos and vector illustrations. Other apps come close, but for that type of work specifically, Illustrator still comes out on top for us.

Cons

For ad design and page layout apps like CorelDraw feel so much more natural to me. I wish that Illustrator would have a bit more page layout features than it does now, instead of putting that all on a tool like Indesign which I don't find enjoyable to use. For this reason, I still use Illustrator often, but it isn't the only tool we can use, and we have to end up using a combination of tools depending on the task.

Switch to Adobe

Compatibility issues with Mac and Adobe Illustrator.

Pros

I liked what the software could offer in the vector arena, it is ease to use and great dependant on your industry. Architects use this more then graphic designer i found in my experience.

Cons

It doesn't play nice with Adobe softwares so i would think before purchasing this.

CorelDRAW

A good software for Designing

Reviewed 5 years ago

Nice experience but Illustrator is better.

Pros

This has a very good set of tools that can be used to create very high class graphics for web as well as printing. I have used this very less. I have switched to Adobe Illustrator. I found better options over there.

Cons

Selection tools are not very comfortable. If we use Adobe Illustrator then the selection process is very comfortable as compared to CorelDraw. Also due to World Wide popularity of Adobe Illustrator, we can find of plenty of creative stuff free of cost on the Internet. Also their is better compatibility in Adobe Illustator and Adobe Photoshop as compared to CorelDraw Adobe Illustrator.

Good software but other options are out there

Reviewed 5 years ago

Decent basic software but you can get more from other programs for just a bit more money

Pros

This is decent software for what it can do but there are other options out there that may just be a bit more expensive but have more features. I feel like this program is more on the basic side of things when it comes to usability and features.

Cons

Lack of features that are available in other apps like Adobe Illustrator.

A great vector creation tool

Reviewed 3 years ago

Its a great software to start learning designing but then again it's better to learn illustrator

Pros

Coreldraw is a fast and smooth design software which is actually easy to use and has all essential features required to easily create catchy vectors.

Cons

It lacks a lot of advanced features compared to Adobe illustrator and so most companies prefer Adobe over corel draw.

CorelDraw- Just OK

Reviewed 5 years ago
Pros

Corel Draw’s simple powerful tools are a great starting point for anyone looking for basic sketch software. Corel Draw loads quickly, has all the necessary basic tools and it works when it needs too.

Cons

The biggest downside is Adobe Illustrator has many of the same features and a few more powerful ones. Additionally, Illustrator works perfectly with the other Adobe apps in a way that Corel Draw does not.

Not good enough

Reviewed 5 years ago
Pros

If you are looking for an editing solution, this is a basic, pretty difficult solution to use. Corel is an old fashioned software, it is pretty difficult to use if you are not a designer with expertise.

Cons

Not easy to use, instead choose adobe illustrator, is far much better and easy to use.

Pros

Great alternative to the much more costly Adobe Illustrator. Very powerful for the price especially for hobby or home use.

Cons

If you've worked with Adobe Illustrator you will miss the pathfinder tool. Also the interface takes some getting used to if you are an Adobe user.

Old friend from the past

I loved it very much earlier, but nowadays Adobe Illustrator looks a more professional to me.

Cons

I always had a feeling that Corel is "second". It's icons are not so pretty, rather clumsy.
