Independent research methodology
Our researchers use a mix of verified reviews, independent research, and objective methodologies to bring you selection and ranking information you can trust. While we may earn a referral fee when you visit a provider through our links or speak to an advisor, this has no influence on our research or methodology.
Verified user reviews
GetApp maintains a proprietary database of millions of in-depth, verified user reviews across thousands of products in hundreds of software categories. Our data scientists apply advanced modeling techniques to identify key insights about products based on those reviews. We may also share aggregated ratings and select excerpts from those reviews throughout our site.
Our human moderators verify that reviewers are real people and that reviews are authentic. They use leading tech to analyze text quality and to detect plagiarism and generative AI.
How GetApp ensures transparency
GetApp lists all providers across its website—not just those that pay us—so that users can make informed purchase decisions. GetApp is free for users. Software providers pay us for sponsored profiles to receive web traffic and sales opportunities. Sponsored profiles include a link-out icon that takes users to the provider’s website.

c12n overview
What is c12n?
c12n is an open-source private cloud computing platform designed for enterprises that require sovereign Infrastructure as a Service solutions within the infrastructure. The platform enables teams to combine industry leading open source technologies including OpenStack, Kubernetes and Ceph to deliver a fully automated, monitored and secure multipurpose cloud environment. It allows managers to accommodate organizations across diverse sectors such as automotive, telecommunications, research and financial technology that seek complete control of computing resources while avoiding vendor lock in and unpredictable licensing obligations. Usage spans cases where proprietary virtualization solutions are replaced with this open source alternative that delivers a significantly reduced total cost of ownership.
c12n features an adaptable architecture that can be deployed in managed or fully air gapped environments with converged or hyper converged infrastructures. Core services include OpenStack components for identity, compute, networking, block storage, image management, dashboard and object storage functionality. Ceph provides distributed software defined storage across all storage types. Kubernetes delivers container orchestration while MAAS manages bare metal lifecycle operations. GitOps automation is achieved with ArgoCD. Monitoring and alerting capabilities are provided by Prometheus with visualization through Grafana. Centralized logging is enabled by OpenSearch and Kubernetes as a Service is available through Gardener integration.
Extensive API integration enables streamlined connectivity with third party systems. The platform can integrate with network management tools such as NetBox to centralize inventory data. Third party monitoring solutions and messaging platforms can be incorporated for on call duty and incident management. External backup and disaster recovery systems can be integrated for off site data protection. Usage metrics can be exported to external billing systems or processed through OpenStack components. Optional OpenStack services include load balancing, DNS, shared filesystems, high availability, bare metal provisioning, key management, database as a service and orchestration. Storage alternatives supported by OpenStack drivers include solutions from NetApp and Pure Storage.
