Cove Data protection is ideal for MSPs, it blends a lightweight backup agent, cloud storage, and remote DR site facilities.  

Its cloud-first architecture and centralised dashboard simplify monitoring and management across multiple clients or locations, which is a significant advantage in an MSP environment. While there are some limitations in terms of backup granularity, the reliability of the backups, automated reporting, and breadth of features—such as disaster recovery and cloud archiving.

I like being able to include / exclude different folders / files from backups, as well as being able to identify if files have been backed up.

We had to abandon backing up Sharepoint and Teams because their licensing model charges you for ALL Entra users regardless if they are actual sharepoint users or not unless you modify the sharepoint permissions which is very cumbersome and 1 user at a time.

There are a few features that are not intuitive, such as the backup to a secondary device and the restore to another folder.

Also I wish there was an archive level for old server backups, like the server is not longer in use, but I would like to save one copy of it for the next year, but currently have to use a full license for that.

A few years back we took all of our customers using another offsite backup service and brought them to the n-able/cove backup service.

The backup agent on premise changes, has caused us some consternation as to whether the scheduled backups had been performed as scheduled.   But we soon found that the newer agent took care of any issues.

Continuous restore allows us to create images ready to spin up if needed.
