What is MailXaminer?
MailXaminer is an email forensics and examination tool for law enforcement units, legal advisors and consultants, and cyber crime investigation experts designed for in-depth analysis of email files. The tool supports over 80 web and application based email clients and over 20 email file formats, helping cyber experts (as well as non-technical experts) in resolving digital crime cases through a semantic approach. Additional features include multiple search mechanisms, various export options, and team collaboration tools.
MailXaminer enables users to scan, view, search, investigate, analyze, smart review and report on large volumes of email messages with support for both web (Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, etc.) and desktop based (Outlook, Lotus Notes, etc.) clients and email file formats. Users can conduct searches for particular evidence, of a particular type, with particular criteria, using a variety of customizable search types including general (and sub search types), predefined, advanced, and proximity search capabilities. Tools for case management include the ability to create a case repository, analyze and recover email, interactive dashboards, status scan, log files, and bookmarking options to help make investigations more efficient. Other key investigation features include artifact support, skin tone detection, geolocation mapping, link and calendar analysis, email tagging, and more.
MailXaminer's team collaboration tools allow investigative teams to work together on a single case simultaneously, and analyze the evidences related to the case in real time. Reviewers have the ability to share feedback and review evidence from any geographical location. Acquired and examined evidences can be stored in various legally supported and preferred file formats for involvement in legal proceedings, such as PDF, MSG, CSV (only for header), concordance, and more.
