What is WeTest UDT?
WeTest UDT (Unified Device Toolkit) by Tencent WeTest is a real-device testing platform for QA engineers, mobile developers, and test automation teams working with Android, iOS, car infotainment, and VR applications.
UDT provides two modes of device access. Teams connect their own Android and iOS devices through UDT Desktop (Windows, Mac, Linux) and share them across locations without duplicating hardware. Alternatively, teams provision devices from WeTest's cloud farm with 99.9% uptime, hosted in data center-grade environments. Both modes are available within the same platform, allowing hybrid setups across offices and regions.
Live device sessions stream over WebRTC at 30-150 ms latency and 30-60 FPS with below 1% frontend CPU usage. The remote debugging toolkit includes real-time logs, a file browser, web terminal, and WDB (WeTest Debug Bridge) — a cross-platform tool that enables full ADB and iOS device debugging from Windows, Mac, or Linux. iOS debugging without macOS is supported.
Test automation supports Appium, Airtest, PyTest, and Unittest. Scripts are uploaded via Git or ZIP and executed in serial or parallel with cron scheduling. CI/CD integration is available via REST API for Jenkins and GitLab CI. WeAutomator provides low-code test script recording through OCR and image recognition, with a VSCode plugin for visual UI control recognition. Custom test frameworks are also supported.
Reports are generated per device and per test case, with pass/fail results, screenshots, video recordings, CPU/memory/FPS performance data, and downloadable logs.
Device management uses tag-based batch configuration and health monitoring. iOS certificate and provisioning profile handling is built in. Role-based access control with three permission tiers provides project data isolation across teams.
UDT is available as shared cloud, single-tenant cloud, or on-premises deployment.
WeTest is certified under SOC 2 Type 2, ISO/IEC 27001:2013, ISO 9001:2015, ISO/IEC 20000-1, CMMI Maturity Level 3, and TMMI Maturity Level 3.
