The software will still calculate values correctly with a life under 1, it just warns you every time you update the asset and will adjust the life of the asset from .25 to .3 if you don't pay attention.

This software is a fantastic value and provides a database for storing all of the relevant information that we need for making better fixed asset decisions.

As far as the assets are concerned you have a lot of fields that you can customize so you can include all the potential data you need in the system.

We have been using Fixed Asset Pro for around 15 years and have been happy enough with it to continue using it even though we have the option to track assets in our accounting software.  

I wish the items that were previously disposed out be in their own tab.   Or that you could sort your asset list at different levels

If you have never used a fixed asset software before, the detail of reports and magnitude of changes when made can taste my patience, but I kept training on it.

We have to our IT administrator install it with the main network administrator user instead of being able to install it under the user who is actually using it.  

All of the reports I need are built in and the GUI is customizable for quick and easy view changes.

The only other small thing is that when you dispose an item it shows the current depreciation down below and does not give you a description of the branch or group it was originally in to record the depreciation.

I am not able to adjust equipment into only certain months during the year and assign to different divisions.  

The other issue, unrelated to Fixed Asset Pro is having to add assets in two systems due to parent company.

It's not cloud based to be able to share with external auditors versus running various reports and emailing them.

I like being able to copy assets and add them quickly so this allows us to be very efficient.

When setting up the assets, it was hard to tell the information needed to populate to the reports I wanted to use.  

We switched from tracking depreciation in an excel to tracking it here.

Sometimes I find discrepancies and then have to figure out how to correct it so that it matches for tax purposes.

Ability to calculate multiple years of depreciation using different methods, than recalculating the depreciation with a new method with minimal input

We were told we would have to delete the original asset and reenter it based on all costs incurred.   If you have to change depreciation methods, it can be tough making sure calculations are correct.

It's a great product for big or small companies with multiple companies and great reports, Good for all company sizes

In addition, FAP's preloaded reports are exactly what you need to create monthly entries.

I can save the monthly report to my One Drive for each month of depreciation and adding new assets is easy!

I'm able to figure out depreciation without having to make adjustments for an asset purchased during the year.

You can house pictures and invoices as well too!

The only thing I can think of is that I wish the software was a bit easier and more modern for custom built reports.

Fixed Asset Pro has a lot of fields for storing other information about the fixed assets, including PM information.

Depreciation expense on the view screen is hard to understand as it does not show current year to date montly, only last year and remaining total.

The data entry of the new assets sometimes get a bit clunky when I forget to enter a field correctly, but once I get back on track, it goes smoothly again.

I ran into a technical glitch while trying to upload a file that caused some changes to my data once it was imported, but support is working on that.

Allowed us to calculate depreciation outside our ERP which was very complicated and not user friendly.
