Residential inspectors

The inspectors now are so fast. Because now I can navigate on a small 5 inch tablet on the job site and go in and out of several different sections of the inspection report, standing in one place, catching exterior plumbing roofing issues back-and-forth very quick on the fly..   the reporting software, when it goes out to the client and the agent that's very simple\nEasy to use program agents and clients love it .  

My previous software I could start and complete my report on my iPad and send it immediately having to upload and download to edit then upload again to be able to send out the report adds up to 2 hrs of my time to complete a report..

Overall the product serves my needs, but leaves me wanting a lot more on the office side for scheduling features and Order setup features.   If I do not see improvements in these areas at some point I will likely look for other options.

I would also like to see a better looking arrow for picture editing.   If I keep the line thickness too thin, then I can't see the graphic, but if I make it too thick it makes the arrow head blend together and it looks like a dot.

My ability to make radon, sewer, residential, commercial, and maintenance reports has served my business well.

For me, on the East Coast, I can contact support between 8 AM and 10 PM Eastern standard time and actually talk to a real support person that can actually take over my screen.

I also dont like that if I go from looking at pictures back to comments, it takes you to where jumped off, so often I think I am inputting a note in the section a moved a picture to only to realize it was in a different section.

I like that we can use multiple inspectors to complete larger projects, I like that the software works with both Mac and PC users.

Overall a must have for any professional home inspectors if you want quality report and the ability to add your own flair with pictures and videos.

I also do not like that I can't use all of the functions of my phone's camera in the app that using the camera in the app is more limited and cumbersome than I think it should be.

Syncing between devices can occasionally be slow, and customizing layouts or advanced settings sometimes takes more steps than it should.

Since the beginning of 2025, it is becoming harder and harder to receive assistance when needed and often times I never receive a phone call even when leaving a detailed message.

There is a lag in the system when trying to add arrows or shapes to highlight an area in a photo.

These is MUCH easier to read at a glance than other reports from other software companies that have a box and "x" system making you scroll back to see what the rating actually indicates.

The included templates are easy to tailor to your own preferences, and the ability to choose pre-written descriptions is a real time saver.

The learning curve is a bit steep when first setting up templates, and some features feel dated compared to newer software.

At minimum mach report requires manipulation of the photo to have it align propoerly.

Honestly if I had the opportunity to move or try other services I would but our franchise solely uses hip and the integration with ISN so that’s not possible.

Not longer receive a monthly email statement for my subscription to office pro just a charge on my credit card..

Support coverage, we are a 24 hr business but hours are limited, need expanded ante better service hours.

I have had ongoing issue with embedded information that gets sent out automatically I have had to spend hours with tech support to finally resolve this issue.

Would like to have spell check when writing out the reports and adding comments in the reports.

Mostly because the report customization. But mobile reporting is slow and there are always issues.

How the report is organized with the photos and comments attached to each section.

I can't think of one day where there was some nationwide issue with accessing your cloud stored info or logging into their website.  

My team of inspectors are very motivated to create streamline ways to complete inspections in the field.

I was in the business for nearly 30 years and used several different types of reporting and software systems and this one was far superior to most.

of the time I’ve called in for support my concerns have been completely dismissed and blame has been placed on network, computer it iOS updates.   

I find it easy to develop our own customer templates for different phases of home inspection.  

With restrictions or watermarks for generating the PDF report.

Home Inspector Pro is easy to use and chock-full of features that allows anyone to build any type of template they can imagine.

It’s very frustrating when a new version is automatically updated and there are major issues.

You need to select that option when you working on the desktop app.

For example, it is hard to rearrange the order of photos.

Keeping up to date with all of the updates was difficult during busy periods.

The Texas inspection (7.6) covers all the required and so much more.

From the beginning , I would say having the ahit template already in the hip software made the transition easy.

I really appreciate that Homegauge is serious about helping me to become as successful as possible.

I like the product, but their customer service has declined drastically since the company was sold to a larger corporation. Since the company was sold, I have more trouble getting through on the phone to a customer rep.

I have complained repeatedly that my clients cannot access inspection agreements (and reports) from their website.

I guess it does let me create inspection reports but at a high cost which goes up every year.

Rather than update the software you already purchased, they just created a different version and want you to pay for it monthly.

The [SENSITIVE CONTENT] at the time was a home inspector and developed the software himself from what I understand. But the company was bought out by a larger corporation.

Poor, it's not very well designed, there are places where they used 0 in place of an o.

The software is older and outdated compared to similar software.
