It is not personalizable; if it doesn't include functions that you need, it is VERY hard to have them implemented.

rd party delivery integration:   Integrating with delivery platforms like uber, doordash, grubhub and others has remained very difficult.

I found the system overall too much, everything was just harder than it needed to be to set up, harder than it needed to be on the back offfice, inventory was far more complicated than it needed to be, reports covered everything but were also just a little too meticulous at the same time that it was counter productive and just needed to provide the information needed.

Refunding a credit card:   Except for same day transactions there is no way to refund a credit card on the POS.

Lightspeed was awesome for intricate things such as splitting bills among multiple customers.

Slow customer support, and somehow limited interface for item editing or customization.

The only option is through the back office website which requires a separate computer and separate access.   

Most other systems we looked at put a QR code on the receipt for the specific receipt.   

The layout was self explanatory which made it easy to punch things in quickly and check patrons out as fast as they sat down.

It was good for accessing and printing out itemized bills. And most importantly was easy to read for us who were entering everything in.

Inventory is limited and not suitable for businesses with a big listing of products

Therefore this resulted in the new site using a different epos, which we have now moved all the businesses too.

We needed something offering us more flexibility and editing options.

This system uses QR codes for a table.   

Menu's:  very limited options in laying out menu's.   

Handheld devices which were helpful for the wait staff.

Getting answers to specific issues or ways to accomplish things is very slow.   

Lightspeed has provided no help in getting a good integration to work.

It absolutely frustrating to have to chase my payments which are short.

Response times from the set up specialist and sales person were slow.  

The link to pay your bill that they eventually send you DOES NOT WORK (nor have they done anything about it after I notified them many months ago.

I dread every tine that I have to contact their support.

So you need a good system that is easy to maneuver and gets the job done.

Ease of use, modern software and detailed reports.

Although I had used Lightspeed pre pandemic it became a nightmare to re-set up post pandemic.

Off chat support again with no promise of how long I'll take to re-try charging my card.

Also, it tracks inventory across multiple platforms so you don't sell inventory you don't have.

Oh, and they just turned off my Backoffice access without any warning!

It runs fairly stable and has a lot of features

It's a breeze for both the users and the admins.

We are now able to accurately determine quantities of items sold and see what menu items are performing under to be able to advertise and highlight those items.

System freezes up when the restaurant is busy causing delays.

We went a long time without being able  to process payments because a clitch in their system.

Tickets print too long with unnecessary information that is redundant.

They are extremely difficult to deal with.

Some reporting could be more details - a few items are tough to track!

Inventory management is very difficult and tedious and most all functions related to inventory management including ordering are a nightmare to manage.

Reporting is great, back office can be accessed from a tablet our phone to make changes and see reports on the fly.

There are a few small issues - refunds are a multi-step process, and setting up the ecom website didn't feel as intuitive as it could be.  

How easy it is to get support, how knowledgeable the support staff is with the software & shortcuts to use it.

Other than maybe the ability to pay in a different currency (calculate change in another currency for example)

Then when I need just certain things from a daily report it gives me too much information and there is no way to tailor it to what we need and customer support does not help much as they don’t seem knowledgeable.

After 40 years of delivering food trying to change and have third company handling my delivery need, Barely started with skytab, at the same time with chownow to handle my delivery’s customers and found out that these two doesn’t work together, hoping they start soon

Delay in processing credit cards.   After you select cc you have to wait until it connects to the reader,  Only about 5 seconds but seems like a long time when we are busy.

I also do not like that they do not involve the sales rep and others when developing the menu for your resturant, the developers need to observe how a restaurant is run before they build it out.

This thing is like learning another language.

With its handheld device, I can take orders and accept payments from anywhere in my establishment.

I also love that it helps keep track of employee time locks, and generates reports on sales etc.

A lot of the reporting is slightly difficult to sort through as well. When trying to print reports or transfer payroll to QuickBooks, it's a bit finicky.

Customer service can improve, when I call several times they seem not as knowledgeable and have to follow up everytime keeping me hold for a long time.

Any con I have is that I wish I was able to completely remove a menu item that is not needed, instead it only allows you to inactivate it. But this is a minor personal preference.

No menu item pics for online orders or pics for servers on UI.
