What is Amazon Inspector?
Amazon Inspector is a vulnerability management solution that helps businesses scan AWS workloads to expose and identify vulnerabilities, enhance the security and compliance of applications across AWS, and meet compliance requirements. Amazon Inspector calculates a contextualized risk score by combining vulnerability and exposures (CVE) information with network security and exploitability. This score can be used to prioritize the most common vulnerabilities and enhance remediation response.
Amazon Inspector automatically detects instances and containers within Amazon EC2 and Amazon ECR and works to detect any immediate vulnerabilities such as software vulnerabilities and network exposure. All workloads are continuously scanned to identify new common vulnerabilities and any changes across any workload. Once the vulnerability has been remediated, Amazon Inspector automatically closes the finding without any manual intervention.
Amazon Inspector provides detailed environmental coverage over all instances, repositories, and container images and provides metrics on any AWS account.
