GeoHECHMS overview
What is GeoHECHMS?
GeoHECHMS, a data wrapper to the HEC-HMS software, significantly speeds up the creation, analysis, and review of stormwater models. It automates various workflows, including subbasin delineation, curve number (CN) computation using land use and soils maps, and lag time (time of concentration) computation.
Using an AutoCAD compatible graphic user interface, GeoHECHMS can be used in stormwater and flood mitigation engineering studies, including the creation of Federal Emergency Management Agency flood hazard maps and other river engineering studies, land development projects, and bridge and culvert highway transportation projects.
Moreover, GeoHECHMS also lets you quickly compare different scenarios and alternatives, such as pre-development conditions with different post-development designs. The software can also help you rapidly construct, design, analyze and compare detention and retention ponds.
