While I won't necessarily say that it's the best DAW for creating music (that is up to your taste and style), I will say that for the processes mentioned above, it continues to be the most thorough and in depth software for audio.   While it does have a decently high learning curve, it's precisely this features, short cuts and processes that make it such a thorough program that allows the user to take total control of their work.

Pro tools is definitely the best daw on the market. Once you learn the ins and outs there's not much else worth using.

The point that I really like in this software is the ability to activate "Heat" mixing improves mixing quality by giving the mixing system an indefinable color and warmth, much like earlier analog consoles.

While I have found Pro Tools to be very powerful and user-friendly digital audio workstation, one of the biggest drawbacks, in my opinion, is the automation and plug-in capabilities. While Pro Tools does offer a wide range of automation options, I have found that the interface can be a bit clunky and difficult to navigate, especially in instances when working with multiple tracks.

I used my purchased copy of Pro Tool 11 for as long as I could, until it physically wouldn't work any more with the new system i had, lol.

I like that I'm working on the same platform as the pro's.

Pro tools is my audio editor because it's reliable, and includes all plugins, and tools required to deliver my productions.

What I like, however, is that they rarely make large, sweeping changes to the fundamental tools of the program.

The main problem with Pro Tools does continue to be the often buggy nature of the software, which often crashes unless you have the most updated software and fastest computer available.   If you aren't running the best computer system ever, you'll be sure to encounter some of these bugs, and there's a good chance you'll still run into them even if you have the top of the line Mac.

Editing audio is a dream, but the interface and signal flow can be a little obtuse. But it pays to know Pro Tools.

All the editing features, for example the implementation of the multi tool, the four modes for the edit view (slip, shuffle, grid/relativegrid, spot), etc. If you know your shortcuts (and if you don´t...YOU SHOULD), editing work is fast as lightning speed.

The UI was a bit confusing at first, but there was plenty of online material to guide once I started looking.

Recently discovered the remote control feature, which comes in real handy when recording from behind the drum kit.

Low CPU impact, customisable, community, detailed.

For ny one interested its very cheap compared to the others.

Very Easy to set up compared to other DAWS, very intuative, and is updated very frequently.

This includes support for VST plugins, which allow users to add a wide range of virtual of virtual instruments and audio effects to tracks.

Therefore on the side of in built and integrated virtual instruments, Reaper covers all grounds to allow any user to expand capabilities within it. When it comes to audio manipulation, the program allows auto adjustment of volume and panning tracks and ability to align audio clips to a specific grid.

The built-in libraries and effects are very few, which forces you to search from other sources

Additionally, users can control how the program handles changes to the audio over time like choosing to have the automation changes to be applied smoothly etc.

Furthermore, there are some very counterintuitive functions, like using right-click to select audio clips (trying to change this in Preferences is a real headache that I could never resolve) that will cause headaches for new users.

In itself, Reaper comes with a built-in virtual instrument ReaSynth. Although it is a basic synthesizer, I have been able to use to create a wide range of sounds.

It's a little tricky to get into at first, but with the wealth of tutorials online, it's easy to learn and begin producing music.

Video and sound producer

I finally found a professional and easy software to produce, mix and master my sounds, and increase my costumers in my studio.

This can make it difficult to see and edit individual notes especially when there are a large number of notes in a track.

The only thing I would say that is lacking with Reaper is it's plug-in integration.   While it does have a lot of good plug-ins built into it, it's definitely not as easily integrated with third party plug-ins as other DAWs.

It’s not a RAM or resource hog, like Protools.

The only downside of Reaper I can think of is that it doesn't come with a suite of cutting edge plug-ins or have an option to purchase different tiers of the program with elite plugins included.

It takes time to get used to the shortcuts and the GUI.
