Our commitment
Independent research methodology
Our researchers use a mix of verified reviews, independent research, and objective methodologies to bring you selection and ranking information you can trust. While we may earn a referral fee when you visit a provider through our links or speak to an advisor, this has no influence on our research or methodology.
Verified user reviews
GetApp maintains a proprietary database of millions of in-depth, verified user reviews across thousands of products in hundreds of software categories. Our data scientists apply advanced modeling techniques to identify key insights about products based on those reviews. We may also share aggregated ratings and select excerpts from those reviews throughout our site.
Our human moderators verify that reviewers are real people and that reviews are authentic. They use leading tech to analyze text quality and to detect plagiarism and generative AI.
How GetApp ensures transparency
GetApp lists all providers across its website—not just those that pay us—so that users can make informed purchase decisions. GetApp is free for users. Software providers pay us for sponsored profiles to receive web traffic and sales opportunities. Sponsored profiles include a link-out icon that takes users to the provider’s website.

AcuityMaster overview
What is AcuityMaster?
AcuityMaster Cloud is a browser-native visual acuity platform for ophthalmology and optometry. There is no client to install and no proprietary display hardware.
Platforms — Safari, Chrome, Firefox or Edge on macOS 12+, Windows 10/11 or iPadOS 16+. An iPad can act as the patient-facing chart itself or as the controller. A second monitor is supported by extending the desktop: the chart runs full-screen on the lane display while the control panel stays on the clinician's screen.
Chart set — Snellen (US, metric and decimal notation), etdrs/Logmar, color vision screening plates, reduced-contrast acuity at four contrast levels, Worth 4-Dot, fixation disparity, astigmatic dial, red-green duochrome, and pediatric optotypes: HOTV, Tumbling E, Landolt C and picture targets. Single-letter, single-line and multiline presentation, randomized between showings, plus crowding bars for amblyopia work and mirror mode for compact lanes.
Calibration — optotype sizes are computed from the patient-to-screen distance the clinician enters. Designed to ANSI Z80.21, which specifies a background luminance of 80–320 cd/m², and to ISO 8596. Not certified to either: luminance is a property of the practice's own display, which AcuityMaster does not supply or measure.
Security and data handling — AcuityMaster stores no patient data of any kind. No names, no dates of birth, no results. It is a display and testing system, not an EMR or EHR, and it contains no patient database. There is no protected health information to secure, transmit or breach, which is a materially different security posture from clinical record software.
Connectivity — sign-in and license validation require a connection. Once loaded, the chart display continues to work offline.
Licensing — annual subscription with graduated per-seat rates. A seat is one signed-in browser session rather than a registered machine, so hardware can be replaced without a license transfer. The first seat is $249 per year and each band above it costs less; ten seats total $1,280 a year. Automatic updates are included. A fully functional 7-day trial requires no credit card.
