What is Algovue?
Algovue is a no-code desktop application for individual traders and algorithmic trading enthusiasts who want to construct, backtest, and export trading strategies without writing code. Built with Flutter, the app runs locally on the user's machine, meaning all strategies are stored on-device and never uploaded to the cloud. A drag-and-drop inline editor lets users build nested If/Else conditional logic structures incorporating technical indicators such as moving averages and exponential moving averages. An interactive date hover feature visually highlights nested logic branches and explains how conditions change over time, giving traders a clear view of strategy behavior across historical data.
Algovue supports search across thousands of securities, ETFs, and crypto assets, with Alpaca.markets as a data source. Backtesting runs via the industry-standard Backtrader.py framework, and completed strategies can be exported as Backtrader.py Python code or TradingView Pine Script for use in external platforms. An integration with ChatGPT-3.5 allows users to transcribe or surface trading ideas within the workflow. Pay-as-you-go pricing makes the tool accessible to hobbyists and independent traders without requiring a long-term subscription commitment.
