AlloyScan overview

What is AlloyScan?

AlloyScan is a cloud-hosted SaaS platform for automated IT asset discovery, auditing, and tracking across on-premises, remote, multi-site, and cloud environments. Delivered entirely through a web browser with no dedicated client installation required, AlloyScan uses lightweight local Audit Services and optional Audit Agents (Windows, macOS, Linux) to collect inventory from customer environments and transmit it securely over outbound HTTPS. Cloud inventory sources — AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform — can be connected without deploying a local Audit Service. The platform supports agentless network scanning, remote auditing of Windows, Linux, and macOS computers, physical servers, and VMware ESXi hypervisors, as well as agent-based collection for devices operating outside the corporate network. Additional inventory sources include Google Directory and Jamf-managed Apple devices (both in preview). AlloyScan targets IT professionals across organizations of all sizes — system administrators, IT asset managers, network engineers, help desk staff, compliance and security officers, and managed service providers running multi-tenant deployments — across industries including healthcare, education, public sector, manufacturing, financial services, and more.

AlloyScan provides a continuously updated, searchable inventory with per-device hardware and software change history, switch port mapping, and an interactive network map. Customizable dashboards surface site health, audit freshness, hardware aging, security posture, and Windows 11 migration readiness through configurable widgets. An interactive Analytics chart builder, dynamic device collections based on custom criteria, ready-to-use reports, and CSV/XLSX export support evidence-based IT decision-making. Printer supply monitoring with threshold-based alerts, Windows Event Log collection with built-in analytics, and 14 built-in remote tools plus custom PowerShell scripting extend operational reach. Customizable alert subscriptions and conditional formatting in data views allow teams to surface the information most relevant to their workflows.

For enterprise and multi-tenant deployments, AlloyScan provides isolated, per-organization Sites, site-level IP access restrictions, a Security Log for user and API access activity, and a REST API for programmatic integration. Two-tier data retention with optional snapshot offload to S3-compatible storage addresses long-term audit and compliance requirements. Synchronization with Alloy Navigator connects asset inventory to broader ITSM and ITAM workflows. The responsive, adaptive UI supports both desktop and mobile access, making AlloyScan practical for distributed IT teams managing complex, heterogeneous environments.
