Our commitment
Independent research methodology
Our researchers use a mix of verified reviews, independent research, and objective methodologies to bring you selection and ranking information you can trust. While we may earn a referral fee when you visit a provider through our links or speak to an advisor, this has no influence on our research or methodology.
Verified user reviews
GetApp maintains a proprietary database of millions of in-depth, verified user reviews across thousands of products in hundreds of software categories. Our data scientists apply advanced modeling techniques to identify key insights about products based on those reviews. We may also share aggregated ratings and select excerpts from those reviews throughout our site.
Our human moderators verify that reviewers are real people and that reviews are authentic. They use leading tech to analyze text quality and to detect plagiarism and generative AI.
How GetApp ensures transparency
GetApp lists all providers across its website—not just those that pay us—so that users can make informed purchase decisions. GetApp is free for users. Software providers pay us for sponsored profiles to receive web traffic and sales opportunities. Sponsored profiles include a link-out icon that takes users to the provider’s website.

Citaria overview
What is Citaria?
Citaria is a cloud-based AI research platform designed for professionals in research, academia, technology, and professional services who require verifiable, defensible research output. The platform interprets a research question, asks clarifying questions when the intent is ambiguous, and breaks the task into a step-by-step plan executed by an AI agent across both user-uploaded files and the open web. Supported file types include PDFs, Markdown, plain text, VTT/SRT transcripts, audio and video recordings (transcribed automatically), and Google Drive files. Every claim in the output document is linked to its exact highlighted source passage, whether that is a sentence on a web page, a cell in a financial table, an equation in a paper, or a timestamped moment in a video.
A separate evaluator model audits every finished document for confidence, consistency, completeness, and freshness before the user reviews it, flagging specific edits for resolution. This two-model architecture, one agent for research and writing and one for quality auditing, reduces the risk of undetected errors reaching the final output. Citaria is free to use and trusted by professionals at organizations including Microsoft, Google, Amazon, University of Washington, AI2, and AI4Life.
Data privacy controls include row-level security and application-level workspace isolation, TLS 1.3 encryption in transit, encryption at rest, and a strict policy of no model training on user research material. These controls make Citaria suitable for organizations handling sensitive or proprietary research content.
