What is CodeZero?
CodeZero is a VS Code extension that helps developers and coding agents understand existing software before making changes. It connects and indexes repositories across an organisation, then turns that information into usable engineering context inside VS Code.
Developers can use the Code Graph to understand how repositories, modules, files and dependencies are connected across the wider software system. Feature Mapping provides a more focused view of how a specific feature or functional area is implemented, including the files, dependencies and cross-repository relationships involved.
CodeZero also provides context-aware investigation, repository browsing, Git history and planning workflows. Developers can explore unfamiliar code, understand what a change may affect, and review a structured implementation plan before execution begins.
CodeZero works alongside existing coding tools such as Claude Code, Codex and GitHub Copilot rather than replacing them. Its role is to give developers and coding agents better software context before implementation starts.
