Our commitment
Independent research methodology
Our researchers use a mix of verified reviews, independent research, and objective methodologies to bring you selection and ranking information you can trust. While we may earn a referral fee when you visit a provider through our links or speak to an advisor, this has no influence on our research or methodology.
Verified user reviews
GetApp maintains a proprietary database of millions of in-depth, verified user reviews across thousands of products in hundreds of software categories. Our data scientists apply advanced modeling techniques to identify key insights about products based on those reviews. We may also share aggregated ratings and select excerpts from those reviews throughout our site.
Our human moderators verify that reviewers are real people and that reviews are authentic. They use leading tech to analyze text quality and to detect plagiarism and generative AI.
How GetApp ensures transparency
GetApp lists all providers across its website—not just those that pay us—so that users can make informed purchase decisions. GetApp is free for users. Software providers pay us for sponsored profiles to receive web traffic and sales opportunities. Sponsored profiles include a link-out icon that takes users to the provider’s website.

DataOps TestGen overview
What is DataOps TestGen?
DataOps TestGen is an open-source data quality tool that profiles every table and column across a connected warehouse, analyzes 55 column characteristics per column, and auto-generates over 120 validation tests spanning 34 test types covering integrity, hygiene, and quality. All profiling and test queries execute as SQL directly inside the user's own warehouse, so data never leaves the environment. Available as a free Apache 2.0 open-source edition and a paid Enterprise edition, it targets data engineering and data quality teams at organizations of any size, with documented deployments in pharmaceutical and life sciences, financial services, manufacturing, supply chain, and nonprofit sectors. Deployment is self-hosted via Docker on Mac, Linux, or Windows, pip install for Python users, or managed cloud for Enterprise customers, and the tool installs in under 30 minutes via two commands.
DataOps TestGen's profiling engine detects 32 hygiene issues and flags definite, likely, or possible problems in data content, structure, and assumptions before they reach downstream dashboards or models. Continuous table monitors track freshness, volume, schema, and data drift on a schedule using ML-based time-series anomaly detection trained on historical patterns per table and column. Quality scores are built from generated hygiene issues and test results, with customizable scorecards that roll up by table, project, DAMA category, Critical Data Element, or business goal, and drill down to specific failing columns. Shareable PDF and URL reports include the column, timestamp, and SQL needed to locate affected rows.
The Enterprise edition extends open-source database support (Snowflake, Databricks, PostgreSQL, BigQuery, MS SQL, Redshift) with Oracle, SAP HANA, Salesforce Data 360, and other proprietary databases, and adds multi-user access, role-based access controls, audit logs, and vendor support. A REST API authenticating via OAuth 2.1 or API token allows profiling and test runs to be triggered from CI/CD pipelines, with results fetchable by job ID and test definitions movable between environments. A Model Context Protocol (MCP) server enables AI assistants to create and manage test definitions, explore profiling results, triage hygiene issues, view quality scores, and manage schedules without leaving the AI conversation interface. Integration with DataOps Observability extends monitoring to pipeline and process-level visibility across the full data estate.
