Domains Defender overview

What is Domains Defender?

Domains Defender is a cloud-based domain monitoring platform hosted in France and built for web agencies, freelance web professionals, and e-commerce businesses managing multiple client domains. The platform continuously monitors DNS records (A, AAAA, MX, CNAME, NS, TXT), SSL certificate validity and expiration, domain expiration, uptime, and email authentication standards (SPF, DKIM, DMARC), then delivers alerts when issues are detected. All client domains are centralized in a single dashboard regardless of registrar, and monitoring can begin within 2 minutes of account creation with no complex configuration required. A free tier supporting one domain is available without a credit card, and plans scale from Starter and Pro up to Enterprise with unlimited domains and team access for up to 10 members.

Domains Defender covers an extensive security and reliability surface: subdomain takeover detection, DNSSEC chain validation, CAA record verification, HTTP security headers (HSTS, CSP, X-Frame-Options), blacklist checking across 14 DNSBL lists, Certificate Transparency monitoring for new subdomains and certificate authorities, Web Vitals and Core Web Vitals auditing via Lighthouse, global DNS propagation verification, and threat intelligence cross-referencing via URLhaus and Google Safe Browsing. Check frequency is configurable from daily down to every minute depending on plan, and uptime monitoring runs at 1-minute to 10-minute intervals. Domain expiration alerts fire at 90, 30, and 7 days pre-expiration. Alert channels include email, Slack, Discord, and webhook. Critical events such as NS or MX record changes and site downtime trigger immediate alerts, while lower-priority changes are grouped into a daily summary, capping alert volume at a maximum of 2 emails per incident. AI analysis is included on all paid plans. A dated change history log supports audit and diagnostics workflows.

Beyond continuous monitoring, Domains Defender provides a free one-time audit covering DNS, SSL, email, and expiration in approximately 30 seconds without requiring account creation, plus 11 standalone free tools including DNS Lookup, SSL Checker, WHOIS Lookup, HTTP Headers, Web Vitals, Sensitive File Checker, Email Security, Redirect Checker, Blacklist Checker, SPF Generator, and DMARC Generator. The platform is GDPR-compliant and accessible via a web-based dashboard. Full API access is forthcoming.
