Our commitment
Independent research methodology
Our researchers use a mix of verified reviews, independent research, and objective methodologies to bring you selection and ranking information you can trust. While we may earn a referral fee when you visit a provider through our links or speak to an advisor, this has no influence on our research or methodology.
Verified user reviews
GetApp maintains a proprietary database of millions of in-depth, verified user reviews across thousands of products in hundreds of software categories. Our data scientists apply advanced modeling techniques to identify key insights about products based on those reviews. We may also share aggregated ratings and select excerpts from those reviews throughout our site.
Our human moderators verify that reviewers are real people and that reviews are authentic. They use leading tech to analyze text quality and to detect plagiarism and generative AI.
How GetApp ensures transparency
GetApp lists all providers across its website—not just those that pay us—so that users can make informed purchase decisions. GetApp is free for users. Software providers pay us for sponsored profiles to receive web traffic and sales opportunities. Sponsored profiles include a link-out icon that takes users to the provider’s website.

Hookbase overview
What is Hookbase?
Hookbase is a middleware platform for webhook infrastructure designed for developers, SaaS teams, indie hackers and open source projects that require reliable delivery, local testing and real time monitoring of webhook events. The platform operates on a global edge network spanning over two hundred locations and delivers average latency below fifty milliseconds. Service commitments include a high availability service level agreement for production workloads.
Comprehensive webhook management is provided through a three step configuration process. Source creation assigns unique request endpoints to each provider with automatic signature verification for major services including GitHub, Stripe, Shopify, Slack, Twilio, Discord, Linear, Vercel, Paddle, SendGrid, Mailchimp and Intercom as well as over ten additional providers. Route configuration enables definition of webhook destinations, event type filtering and payload transformations using JavaScript to map fields, filter events or adapt data structures for downstream systems. Delivery mechanisms include automatic retries with exponential backoff for up to twenty four hours, configurable retry counts, interval settings and timeout parameters. Event replay capabilities access webhooks retained for thirty to ninety days, facilitating issue debugging and recovery from downstream failures.
Local development testing is supported through a command line interface tool that establishes secure WebSocket connections from local development environments to the global edge network, forwarding incoming webhooks to local servers without port forwarding or firewall alterations. The terminal based user interface dashboard displays real time request logs with method and status tracking, supports keyboard driven navigation with vim keybindings and allows management of sources, destinations, routes and tunnels entirely from the command line.
Security is ensured through end to end encryption with TLS for all connections, encrypted payload storage at rest and compliance with SOC two Type two standards. Additional protective measures encompass IP filtering, JSON schema validation, field encryption and circuit breaker functionality. Real time analytics dashboards monitor delivery rates, latency metrics and error tracking, with configurable alert and notification channels. A REST API enables programmatic management of webhook infrastructure and a set of standalone developer tools includes a webhook inspection utility, signature verification calculator, cron expression builder, JSONata playground and payload formatter. Deployment scenarios range from local development testing and production relay to Internet of Things and edge use cases that require forwarding webhooks behind network address translation or firewall constraints.
