Employees select between a confidential track that directs sensitive questions to a private human resources channel and an open track that posts questions to public channels for subject matter experts to respond. Confidential inquiries are visible only to members of the private human resources channel without any identifying information about the sender. Members of the private human resources channel can respond with a single click through the application interface. The response appears as a message from human resources with no administrator names attached. Employees can edit or retract messages at any time before a reply is delivered. The open track allows completed public threads to be archived to Notion with a custom summary title to create searchable knowledge base entries.

HushAsk integrates with Notion through a synchronization feature that enables organizations to build knowledge repositories from anonymized question and answer exchanges. Administrators can activate the archive function at the conclusion of public threads to transfer conversations to a designated Notion workspace along with a descriptive summary title. The platform operates within Slack’s existing permission model without requiring separate authentication systems or standalone applications. Installation follows standard Slack app procedures, and the software functions across public channels, private channels and direct messages to the application. The system maintains compatibility with Slack’s native access controls to leverage existing security configurations.
