Our commitment
Independent research methodology
Our researchers use a mix of verified reviews, independent research, and objective methodologies to bring you selection and ranking information you can trust. While we may earn a referral fee when you visit a provider through our links or speak to an advisor, this has no influence on our research or methodology.
Verified user reviews
GetApp maintains a proprietary database of millions of in-depth, verified user reviews across thousands of products in hundreds of software categories. Our data scientists apply advanced modeling techniques to identify key insights about products based on those reviews. We may also share aggregated ratings and select excerpts from those reviews throughout our site.
Our human moderators verify that reviewers are real people and that reviews are authentic. They use leading tech to analyze text quality and to detect plagiarism and generative AI.
How GetApp ensures transparency
GetApp lists all providers across its website—not just those that pay us—so that users can make informed purchase decisions. GetApp is free for users. Software providers pay us for sponsored profiles to receive web traffic and sales opportunities. Sponsored profiles include a link-out icon that takes users to the provider’s website.

Kiro overview
What is Kiro?
Kiro is an agentic AI development environment built and operated by AWS, designed to take software projects from prototype to production using spec-driven development. Available as a desktop IDE (Mac, Windows, Linux), web interface, CLI, mobile app, and open-source self-hosted workspace, it converts unstructured prompts into documented, traceable requirements (requirements.md), architectural design (design.md), and sequenced implementation tasks (tasks.md) before any code is written. Automated reasoning detects logical gaps, ambiguities, and conflicting constraints in specs at the requirements stage. Property-based testing then validates that AI-generated code matches the original specification intent, catching edge cases that unit tests miss. Multiple workflow variants are supported: Requirements-First, Design-First, and Quick Spec, covering both feature development and bugfix scenarios.
Kiro supports parallel agent execution using a dependency-graph-based scheduling model, allowing independent tasks to run concurrently and reduce feature implementation time. Event-driven Agent Hooks trigger automations on file save, create, delete, or manual events to run background tasks such as generating documentation, writing unit tests, or enforcing coding standards. Steering files provide persistent, markdown-based project context that shapes agent behavior across sessions, preserving institutional knowledge and team conventions. Context-aware Powers are installable plugins that bundle Model Context Protocol (MCP) tools, skills, and knowledge, activating dynamically based on keywords in conversation. Cloud sessions allow agents to continue working autonomously when the developer is away, with checkpointing available to rewind agent-made changes.
Kiro serves individual developers, lean startups, and large engineering organizations (200+ person teams) across industries including higher education, aviation, telecommunications, SaaS, logistics, and financial services. Enterprise deployments are backed by AWS infrastructure with IAM and SSO authentication, usage dashboards, cost management controls, IP indemnity, and governance and administration controls. GovCloud availability supports regulated environments. The IDE is built on Code OSS with support for Open VSX plugins, VS Code settings, and a broad language set including Python, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, C#, Go, Rust, PHP, Ruby, Kotlin, C, C++, shell scripting, SQL, Scala, JSON, YAML, and HCL.
