Map4.net National Map overview

What is Map4.net National Map?

Map4.net National Map is a cloud-based, browser-accessible GIS mapping application that displays fiber and broadband network coverage across the United States. Broadband and fiber internet service providers use it to geocode street addresses, visualize nearby network infrastructure, and rank competing or partner networks by coverage footprint, proximity, or FCC-reported advertised download speed. The platform also serves E-Rate vendors, school districts, libraries, and consultants working within FCC and USAC federal funding programs.

Map4.net National Map centers its workflow on two core search modes. Single-address search geocodes a street address, pins it on the map, and activates Score Mode, which draws and ranks the top nearby networks using configurable filters: minimum polyline count, relative score threshold, and rank-by options covering Coverage, Nearest, Hybrid, and Speed. A Provider List filter then allows users to isolate and load a single provider's full route layer for deeper inspection. For high-volume prospecting, the Bulk Address feature accepts a CSV file formatted with Address, City, State, and Zip columns, geocoding and pinning multiple locations in a single session. KML and KMZ file imports allow providers to overlay proprietary route data on top of FCC-sourced layers. An Open RFPs module supports submission of RFP entries by type, address, and title or URL, connecting infrastructure data directly to procurement workflows.

Data currency is maintained through a daily sync to FCC Broadband Map data and the U.S. government E-Rate Open Data program. Usage is tracked per IP per day on the free tier; a paid monthly subscription removes the daily quota cap entirely, supporting high-volume operational use. The interface is optimized for Safari, Chrome, and Brave on phones and tablets, as well as all major desktop browsers, making Map4.net National Map accessible for both office-based analysis and field work.
