Opsmeter overview

What is Opsmeter?

Opsmeter is a cloud-based SaaS platform for LLM inference cost tracking and AI spend governance, targeting product teams, platform engineers, operators, and founders building or running LLM-powered applications. Telemetry is ingested via a direct REST API (api.opsmeter.io) with no proxy or traffic rerouting required, leaving provider LLM calls unaffected. SDKs are available for Node.js and Python, with .NET on the roadmap. Integrations cover OpenAI, LangChain, LangSmith, Vercel AI SDK, and n8n.

At the request level, Opsmeter captures provider, model, endpoint tag, token usage (input and output), latency, status, and request identifiers, then surfaces cost attribution broken down by endpoint, prompt version, tenant, and user. The Prompt Impact compare tool detects deploy-linked cost drift before full rollout, while the Investigate Spike tool supports root-cause diagnosis of cost incidents within the same workflow as budget controls. Budget alert workflows support warning and exceeded thresholds, and a budget simulator with a policy template library allows teams to model spend scenarios. Tenant profitability risk analysis, savings simulation, and feature-level unit economics modeling (adoption, retry overhead, gross margin projection) address pricing and cost accountability decisions. Agent workflow cost breakdowns identify expensive tool-call paths, retries, and fallback loops.

Governance and reporting capabilities include weekly executive summaries, custom date-range board pack exports, shareable read-only links, and an incident timeline with watchlists and annotations. Raw and summary data retention windows are plan-based and documented in pricing. No prompt bodies or PII are stored, supporting compliance alignment. Workspace-scoped API keys with rotation and role-based membership controls manage access. An enterprise roadmap targets SSO (SAML/OIDC) and expanded audit-log workflows for governance-sensitive organizations.
