Perfion PIM overview

What is Perfion PIM?

Manufacturers, distributors, and e-commerce companies use Perfion PIM to centralize, enrich, and distribute product data across every system and sales channel they operate. Businesses with large or complex assortments, including catalogs with 12,000 or more SKUs, use it to keep product information accurate everywhere it appears instead of updating each channel manually after every change. It also replaces the mix of Excel files, shared drives, and disconnected ERP data that many growing businesses rely on before consolidating their product information into a single system.

Teams can manage products, variants, specifications, digital assets, and relationships in one environment while keeping full control over data structures and workflows. Fields, relationships, variants, and product structures can be defined and changed directly by product, marketing, and IT teams, without requiring external consultants or custom development for every structural change. New functionality is added on top of the existing system rather than built into its core, so businesses can extend the platform as product ranges, channels, and requirements change over time, without accumulating the complexity that often comes from modifying a system's core structure.

Digital asset management, a content distribution store, and a supplier portal all run on the same underlying data model. This helps businesses avoid the synchronization issues that typically arise when these functions live in separate, disconnected systems, and lets them collect product data directly from suppliers rather than through manual imports. Teams can also manage and publish product data in multiple languages, and track changes with version history that allows them to restore previous versions when needed.

The low-code Actions module lets teams build integrations, automations, validation rules, approval flows, and enrichment triggers through visual configuration. This gives product and marketing teams a way to change how data moves through the system without depending on a development team for every adjustment, and supports use cases such as onboarding new e-commerce channels without a manual data export each time, or managing translated product descriptions across multiple countries with less manual, error-prone work.

Perfion PIM integrates natively with SAP Business One and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, reading item master data, bills of materials, and pricing directly from the ERP. It also connects to e-commerce platforms including Shopify, Adobe Commerce, WooCommerce, Sana Commerce, and BigCommerce, along with print and catalog output through InDesign plugins or HTML templates, and an open API for custom integrations.

Perfion PIM is built natively for SAP Business One, while PIM systems such as Akeneo, Pimcore, and inRiver require custom integration work to connect to an ERP. Its data structures can be changed directly by business users rather than requiring technical support for every modification, and it brings digital asset management, a content distribution store, and a supplier portal into one solution, which reduces the number of separate systems businesses need to keep in sync.
