Rokoko - 2026 Pricing, Features, Reviews & Alternatives

Rokoko is a motion capture hardware and software platform for 3D character animation, trusted by more than 250,000 creators globally. The platform combines a wireless full-body IMU suit (Smartsuit Pro II), finger tracking gloves (Smartgloves II), face capture tools (Headrig and Headcam), and an electromagnetic drift-correction accessory (Coil Pro) with a desktop and web-based software suite for recording, editing, retargeting, and exporting motion data. No external cameras, optical markers, or dedicated studio space are required, making portable capture viable in any room or outdoors. Hardware ships to more than 100 countries and targets independent creators, small studios, full-scale animation and VFX productions, game developers, educators, and technical users in robotics and biomechanics research.

The desktop application, Rokoko Studio (Windows and macOS), handles capture, animation editing, retargeting, live streaming, and export in FBX, BVH, and CSV formats. Skeleton presets cover Mixamo, HumanIK, UE5 Manny, and others. Real-time plugins connect natively to Blender, Unreal Engine, Unity, Maya, Cinema 4D, MotionBuilder, Houdini, and iClone. The browser-based Rokoko Create platform adds AI-powered motion creation tools: Video-to-Motion (Vision 3.0 monocular AI solver) extracts clean 3D body animation from uploaded video files, while Text-to-Motion generates animation clips from natural language prompts. Both tools produce motion data licensed for commercial use. Cloud storage and team asset sharing are also available through the platform.

The Smartsuit Pro II captures at 200 FPS over a 100m WiFi range with a built-in hotspot for offline use. Coil Pro applies proprietary electromagnetic field technology to deliver absolute global positioning for hands and body, eliminating IMU drift without cameras or markers. Smartgloves II use hybrid IMU and EMF sensor fusion across seven sensors per glove for real-time finger and wrist tracking, and integrate with third-party optical systems including OptiTrack, Qualisys, and MOVIN, as well as robotics pipelines via ROS. The software follows a freemium model: the free Starter plan includes unlimited recordings and FBX exports with no subscription cost for hardware recordings, while optional paid plans unlock AI tools and additional features at predictable pricing with no hidden usage fees.
