Our commitment
Independent research methodology
Our researchers use a mix of verified reviews, independent research, and objective methodologies to bring you selection and ranking information you can trust. While we may earn a referral fee when you visit a provider through our links or speak to an advisor, this has no influence on our research or methodology.
Verified user reviews
GetApp maintains a proprietary database of millions of in-depth, verified user reviews across thousands of products in hundreds of software categories. Our data scientists apply advanced modeling techniques to identify key insights about products based on those reviews. We may also share aggregated ratings and select excerpts from those reviews throughout our site.
Our human moderators verify that reviewers are real people and that reviews are authentic. They use leading tech to analyze text quality and to detect plagiarism and generative AI.
How GetApp ensures transparency
GetApp lists all providers across its website—not just those that pay us—so that users can make informed purchase decisions. GetApp is free for users. Software providers pay us for sponsored profiles to receive web traffic and sales opportunities. Sponsored profiles include a link-out icon that takes users to the provider’s website.

SAEL overview
What is SAEL?
SAEL is a cloud-based safeguarding records platform serving the full spectrum of educational settings across England, from individual childminders and EYFS providers through to primary schools, secondary schools, independent schools, and multi-academy trusts. Built around a single continuous child-centred record, SAEL assigns each child a universal identifier (the SAEL number) that travels with them between settings, so a safeguarding history started in early years accumulates without interruption through to secondary school rather than being rebuilt or lost at each transition. The platform is structured to meet safeguarding duties set out in the EYFS statutory framework and Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE).
SAEL consolidates concern logging, chronologies, case management, referrals, outcome tracking, interactive digital body mapping with parent signature capture, restraint recording, LADO referral tracking, and single central record (SCR) compatibility into one auditable record. The Shared Journeys feature allows two settings to co-author the same live safeguarding record simultaneously, with every contribution clearly attributed. The MAST central archive holds a child's record so it can be re-allocated if they move to a non-SAEL setting and later return. The Bridge DSL dashboard provides a live overview of open concerns, flagged concerns, upcoming meetings, actions, and a watchlist for critical children. A Community Reporting Portal, accessible to parents, carers, visitors, and unregistered staff via an auto-generated QR poster, extends the reporting route beyond registered platform users. Concerns are uneditable once saved, preserving immutable evidence for audits, reviews, and investigations. Offline mode supports concern recording for up to 12 hours without internet, with automatic sync on reconnection.
SAEL is deployed via web browser with UK-only data hosting, GDPR compliance, Cyber Essentials certification, annual penetration testing, daily automated security scanning, and mandatory multi-factor authentication on all DSL-tier accounts. Records are retained until age 25, or age 75 where serious concerns were raised. Wonde integration provides direct sync with SIMS, Arbor, and other MIS platforms. Secure, password-protected PDF Casefile export supports multi-agency sharing, and a short-term access portal allows record transfer to settings not on the platform. Pricing is flat-fee with no per-pupil charges and all features included as standard.
